There exists a most curious and powerful race in the world of Ospes, able to manipulate and alter matter itself.

Their numbers are few, and from the beginning they have lived as outcasts, perceived as a threat to the world and every living thing in it.

They are called Theolar.

Thymetians, the most dominant race on Ospes, have done all that they can to suppress the Theolar. For they, more than any, are afraid of them.

Most Theolar are content to live in hiding and have abandoned the use of their abilities in hopes they would be forgotten. But among them there is a small group, known as the
Andurim, who are unwilling to give up that part of themselves.

Their sole purpose is to provide the Thymetians and the rest of the world with a glimpse of their greatness, now long overshadowed by what else they are capable of…

Canvas is Complete!

Five years and two children later, I have finished my second game. The download has been updated. The game should last around 15 hours or so depending on a few factors including puzzles and sidequests. I have included a full walkthrough and complete item guide with the download. If you need more detailed help than the walkthrough gives, please don't hesitate to ask. I love every kind of feedback, especially bug reports if you find any. Well I'm up to the hidden sanctuary part, and I'm assuming I can't solve the nearby ruin without a hint that I get during some point in the game. So far I've really enjoyed it, but I did find a bug in the past. I will also put some comments below on things that I've noticed. Edit: Got the hint and solved the ruin easily.

When I was going through the tunnel to the mainland, during the dark room puzzle, I found a passability error at the very bottom, near where you start, that lets you access a switch too early, and makes it so your hero is positioned wrong. It's not game breaking, but I figured I should point it out.

Love the lockpicking minigame, but I figured out how to solve on my first try. Just guess numbers 1 through 6, fill in the numbers that belong (aka, if there's a 4, put a 4 in every slot). Using this method I've been able to solve the easy/mediums fairly easily, but I don't think it will work on hard ones when I find one.

The gambling minigames were nice, but I found more often than not, you could easily gain the win by letting the dealer bust. The longshot minigame can be abused with a save point. Gamble a few times on the highest stakes (I've won over 3000 with this method), and if you aren't successful after 10 attempts, reload and try again. I figure any gambling game can be abused, but longshot is up there where it becomes extremely profitable if you hit a x50 or x100.

As far as the stories/puzzles go, I've enjoyed this quite a bit so far. I've been solving anything that comes my way (except those annoying ones I'om forced to skip due to hints coming later). Well anyways, time to backtrack through the dungeons I'm allowed too...since I have to go back and get the stuff that was protected by wind focus.

Edit: Just remembered another bug I never posted. This one is relatively minor (and kind of funny). Back when I had to collect driftwood, I destroyed a rock to go the next map (the rock blocking the lower entrance), exited that map where I just entered, except the upper entrance, and since I didn't destroy the rock blocking the upper entrance (I only left it for this test), I appeared on top of the rock. Doesn't break anything, but throwing it out there for ya.

Edit 2: Armegmus just learned refresh, and I noticed it has a different icon than fidese's refresh.
I'm getting on your nerves I know, but:

I got the item in Val's battle, but that made it even worse. It's like saying: Hey, you have to lose, because the story demands it, but here, a little something because you held out until the storyhammer comes crashing down.


And regarding the other thing:

I just brought this up because, one time I hit the button, and the game froze/laged for a second, and I could see that the alignmend was spot on, and it still registered as a miss. But I will try again, because this game is worth the time and effort.

Seconded, a Quit-button is needed.
I do hope that my post hasn't ended up on some other game's page, but it seems to have disappeared from here, so here it is again.

It's there now - sorry about the double posting.
little, there is no quit game button. Whenever you want to close it, just find a save point, save, and then hit the red x in the top right corner. I went to edit something in my last post, so you got lucky on the timing at least lol.
I want to own Trux ;) He's dialogs are great as for a "dog?" .
Again game is 32x good and for now i think everything should be like it is now ^^
Loved option where u can change battle speed ;)
I will definitely give your game a whirl, just downloaded it.


It's very rare for me to play VX games, but seeing all these comments convinced to play this.

@littlebro - It wasn't a rookie question, but I answered it on the first page of comments, shortly after you mentioned it. There is no quit game option from the menu, you can just exit full screen mode and hit the 'x' at the top right corner of the window. It is only slightly more inconvenient, and I didn't want a quit option taking up one of the spots in the menu.

@demonlord5000 - Thanks for the bug reports, I always appreciate those, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the lockpicking. If you're looking for harder puzzles...you'll find them =).

Unless there are several duplicate numbers, your strategy won't work most of the time on hard locks =). The blackjack game is exactly the same as standard blackjack, meaning the dealer will hit if below 17, so the bust rate is standard.


If you wouldn't mind, can you please put anything specific that has to do with the story, or puzzles/minigames along the way in the hidden tags. Thank you.

@NEIN - I'm sorry to hear that part bothered you so much. As for the smithing, it sounds like the lag you experienced had something to do with why it seemed inconsistent. Has it been working better for you?

Fixed. I had actually meant to go back and hide the whole thing, but I completely forgot. This post I went alot deeper into stuff, as well as mentioned a few things (past and preesent locations), to give a general idea how the games running in a veterans hands when it comes to games. Warning: Spoilers abound in this post, so read the hidden at your own peril.

So far I'm in the mountains, and everything has been going smoothly. I've yet to get to a puzzle that really challenges me...I guess I'm too good. As for the lockpicking, I'll just have to change it up a bit on the hard ones, since it's unlikely they'll contain multiples. In that case I'd simply need to figure out the numbers and rearrange them different ways till I get it right.

I've managed to get all the items so far, minus the ones I can't get too yet due to a story event in the past keeping me from backtracking. Nice touch with a free item with val if you survive long enough in a certain battle (shame I'm finding myself using other items instead). Pretty sure I've already solved vellamiks chest too, since I've seen how the numbers work, and I know what he'd associate his with. Shame I can't go back there.

I've done all the hunting quests/explored all the ruins/found the broken bow during a backtrack moment. I'm betting I fix that bow into her best weapon eventually. My skilled nature is sadly letting me predict some stuff, but nonetheless enjoyable. The appearing/disappearing lilipad was easy to figure out (took all of 3 secoonds), the guessing puzzles are kind of pointless (imo), the puzzles that require some thought aren't too bad, but the 4 brothers was too easy (after the second puzzle, it's easy to notice each one required pressing 4 buttons, and then it was a matter of deduction), and the timing puzzles are easy (at least for me).

Battles are fairly simple. I'm tempted to switch to legendary to challenge myself..but I'm saving that for my second playthrough down the line. The story has been pretty good, though the brainwashing thing was sort of a given. I am curious how val and armegmus will end up, so you've succeeded in that area.

Special items so far to give an idea just how well I'm doing: 4 keystones, the 4 emeralds from the ruin crystals, 61 relics, faded scroll/torn parchment, bunch of statues, 6 bethurial ore, couple of keys, and pennas letter. As for my levels, I have 30's and 29s. I find myself mostly using armegmus as a spellcaster, vallamik as a buffer/debuffer/thief, trux as a berserker dps, and fidese as a healer. I did have to restart once after I figured out I needed confusion for a certain hunt, and neither of the 4 had it (should of known dps spells wouldn't of been the solution), but quickly figured it out afterwords.

Edit: I'm in town now at the orz whack minigame. I have a bear named angus, a permalock chest in site..and a npc who's trying to win whats inside thechest...what could it possibly mean? At any rate, I also found the flaming rapier.

Edit 2: Geez, this dodge the frog minigame is tough. So far I've lasted 16 seconds out of 60 that I need for the prize. Im assuming it's 60 anyways, going by the npc dialog.

Edit 3: Finally got a prize from the frog minigame...I topped 23 seconds. I think 60 would of been impossible, so I'm glad it wasn't a minute.

Edit 4: Heh, the stone throwing minigame was easy (I even got 3 birds with one stone), with a total of 34 points. I could of had higher, but I slipped a couple times.

Edit 5: Reel deal was way too easy. 8 seconds on the first try.


At any rate, I hope my comments help ya know how the game runs. I've been playing rpgs for years, so I have a tendancy to be a bit overkill (cept when it comes to grinding, I find myself being level 30 after even having run from several battles).
Still not working, after many tries.

Even had others try it, with the same results.

Maybe I'm just timingly challenged :)

OK, I admit defeat. I couldn't do the puzzle in the Ruins east of Dagron, so I went off and did something else and have gone back to have another go, and still can't

I assumed that it had to be based on the pattern of the existing layout, because if it were random the number of possibilities hit the high thousands. I have tried every permutation that I can think of, and have got nowhere. Any chance of a helping hand here? If you didn't want to put it on the page, could you pm me?

By the way, meant to mention something that pleases me, and I forgot. I've played lots of games where your fight the boss, it whacks you around like nothing on earth and at the end of it, you get very little XP and not much more money than for an ordinary fight. I like the way you've graded the rewards to reflect increasing difficulty.
Heh, no problem. I just reread and I forgot to mention a past bug.

In the deserted desert town (can't remember name at this point), there was a rogue that sold lockpicks and introduced himself. The bug is he that you had to redo the introduction each time, so each time you talked to him, his name would start off as a question mark.

Edit: In the hare today minigame, you might want to reset the winning streak if you leave the tent. I was just testing if I could cheat with using the nearby save point, and you can. If you get it wrong you can just reload. Don't worry though, it's an easy minigame, so time to do it legit :)

Edit 2: I can't test this now, but what would happen if I tried to lockpick the house while vallamick isn't in my party? I would of tested, but didn't realize he'd be temporary leaving.

Edit 3: still in town, theres a minor passability error with one of the merchant tents. I can stand on one of the legs holding the tent up. To be more specific, it's the item merchants tent..

Edit 4: Now this is odd, I was looking through my inventory, and the broken bow I found in the forest isn't there. That's really odd.

Edit 5: I just noticed novriaths worn whip doesn't have a description.

@littlebro - You probably knew you had it at one point, but forgot about it. Check your inventory under special items...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

@demonlord5000 - I've gone through and fixed the things you've pointed out. You've been very helpful with that. The ability to save between "Hare I Am" games was intentional. It's stress-free if you choose it to be =). As of now, without Vellamik, it would say the door is locked and that's it.

Well, I have to give you some credit, as I ran into a puzzle that took me 5 minutes to solve. It was more to me overcomplicating the strategies though, and as a result I overlooked the obvious.

The puzzle was the 5th snowball switch puzzle in the ruins (5 snowballs, 3 switches). I was trying to line them up a certain way, and overlooked the obvious lined up snawball with the other 4.

I also found your island...sneaky. I do not leave any small island uncharted though, and found the item. I'm also glad to be rid of annoying world map encounters while on the boat (a shame it didn't happen with the horse).

I also solved my first hard complexity lock. I got it on the first try, with 1 attempt remaining.

The broken bow not showing in my inventory has been bugging me..as I'm hoping that doesn't stop me from getting the ultimate weapon. Not too hard to figure out it's related.

Last snowball puzzle was easy

Edit: Forgot about the emembra hunt. That thing could deal some serious damage, but two potent tonics saved the day.

@demonlord5000 - you can use Vellamik's Avoid Trouble skill if you don't want to fight random encounters anytime you like. If you look in the items -> weapons subcategory you should see the item you were concerned about.
Yeah, I've been doing that, but it's annoying when he gets low on ap lol. As for the bow...it's not there. The only bow I have is a silver bow.

I'm not sure if it's a side effect of doing it before I got sydarion back or what...but the bow isn't in any of my categories (I've scoured it like 5 times).

Anyways, loving the story. Not even I predicted who baler really was..it was shocking. I expected that guy to be someone I got down the line or something.

The puzzles in the factory aren't too bad, but the iron ball puzzles have a minor glitch. If your quick enough facing the lever from left to right (aka, you move it starting from left, to up, to right, you can trick the ball into instantly going right, without it ever moving up.

I've not completed the factory yet, but I've got my equipment back and only a couple more chairs to destroy, so I figured I'd go ahead and post. It was a big event just like I expected, and I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

Edit: Just found out vallamiks burning rapier can damage bombs. Thats kind of weird.

Edit 2: When I enter my boat, it doesn't dismount me from my horse.

Edit 3: I'm in the sealed caverns (the room with a bunch of buttons), and I see a sign, but I cannot get to it. I've hugged all the walls but there doesn't seem to be a secret passage.

Edit 4: I've been running around trying to break the game since I can't proceed through the sealed cavern (if there is a passage to that sign in that room...it isn't working), and succeeded. If you hit the action key rapidly and pass under the bridge, there's a chance your boat will actually appear on top of the bridge, and break the game.


This is all for now. I suppose I can try revisiting where I got the bow...but it'll have to wait till I have access to that place again. I was vague as to not give the location away.
