There's a section of the game where I'm doing custom faces and sprites.
But I can't decide on the style, so I need some feedback...mainly because I'm in a rut of self-loathing at the moment.
There's this:
Or I could do this style:
I'm more comfortable with the second style, but the facesets are for these sprites:
So I don't know! D'8
I actually really kind of hate the first one something fierce for reasons I can't place (I didn't sleep last night, which means I've been up for 22 hours now, so that might be it). But yeah. Really need opinions on this ASAP so I can finish up these facesets.
OH! If I do the first style, the emotions will be static rather than having different facesets, which I would do for the second style.

CloseI vote for the second one, the first one looks pretty over-worked and second look pretty cool even if it is more simple (that is probably the reason I it like more)

I prefer the first faceset in terms of the style, but really you should go for what's easiest (while still looking good, of course)
Spirit_Young: The first one was actually drawn for this game. The second one is Ralph! Hahahah~ It's just the style.
though I didn't realize how similar their haircuts are until I did a prototype.

That's a tough one! I like the face better on the second one, but I like the outfit that the first guy is wearing better! I guess it wouldn't work if they were combined n' blended . . ..

They both look good, better to go with what matches more imo, but it's also good to go with what's easier to draw. :)

I personally like the second one more, I think due to the sharper lines and the use of black for outlining.
