The Land of Darkness ~ Exploring Nocturna Plains

"I can't seeee!!!"
Nocturna Plains is the fourth "zone" of Vagabond. It's major characteristic is-of course-being very dark. Unusually dark, in fact, which is causing concern for the denizens of Granti. Even more disturbing is the rumor of a curse being placed upon those who explore the area. Hmmm...

"Open Sesame! ...WHY WON'T YOU OPEN!?"
Located near West Gate is an enigmatic sealed palace. What lies inside is a mystery. Perhaps a Fiend? A Sage? Maybe both? Maybe no one will ever find out. But maybe the mystery of the palace is linked to a few conspicuous statues scattered throughout the plains?

"Welp, not much else to do now but pray."
However you get inside, beware. The curse of the plains and the horrors rumored to lurk within the palace might end up being all too real.

"Certainly there is nothing important beyond that sealed door!"

I'd say Nocturna Plains are more than just characteristically dark; they're unbearably dark. Seriously, I wouldn't like to pump the brightness of my monitor through the roof just no navigate one area... If you did this on purpose I'd argue is a bad decision to inconvenience the player just to convey an idea. And if you didn't do it on purpose then maybe you need to calibrate your screen. =P

Yeah, I do realize this. I'll probably make it brighter before I actually release the final product. Finding the perfect balance is difficult, though.
EDIT:
FTR, I can see it just fine even on the lowest brightness setting on my laptop.
Okay, I made it a bit brighter, and changed the screenshots to reflect this. Hopefully this is enough, but if it's not just let me know. I can't make it too much brighter than this, though, because a)once you clear the area it becomes brighter anyway and b) darkness is kind of the point, for better or worse.
Yeah, I think most monitor today are set very bright by default, butwhatchugonnado? I mean, there's a drastic difference between the first three and the last screen... In any case I think it would be a good idea to not darken the screen overall so much, but just reduce the radio of the light, so there's a normal grade of visibility around the player. Know what I'm saying?

Yeah, I know what you mean, and that was what I was trying for in the first place. I'll try working with it a little, but I like it how it is now.
