This game is going to be epiccccc.
I just hope that at some point we'll see a demo. Like, it's nice you're working on cameo characters, but I hope the actual story progresses.
I believe the game is almost done according to his latest blog post. So rather than a demo, we'll likely see the finished product soon enough. =)
I wouldn't be so certain, Sphere. Have you seen the planned world map? It's ginormous! I don't think that story-wise the team is even half-way, maybe it's closer to a quarter, but without WCouillard confirming anything solid, I'm just doing a guessing game TBH.
I just can't wait for this game to be released. I swear I'm anticipating this release more than I am several commercial titles. =)
You got me there. Commercial games have dropped in overall quality, excluding graphics; that's the only thing they're good with nowadays, but that's a discussion for a new thread somewhere in the forums.
So beautiful...we're sure this is free, right? I might end up feeling bad for not having to pay money for this, but Ill get over it.

The main story of the game is pretty much set. How much of it is playable, I can't estimate. If I had to, I'd say 20%. There is SO much work to do for the battle system; mostly bug smashing and compatibility, and animating things (big props to Avee for being awesome here).

The biggest hurdle is mapping areas with their intended design intact, instead of settling for resources that are readily available. Paul was a big part of making that happen, and with him away, it's been harder to make progress on maps. Still, work continues each day.
Sounds pretty rough, but 20% is better than nothing.

How long has Paul been away?

Quite a while. He's always welcome back, though.
