Verdamm and Solis concept art.

Kate (project artist) raised the point a day or two ago that I've never provided any physical description of Solis itself. I've got notebooks full of jotted details, ideas, plot points, character doodles and other assorted game making paraphernalia, but no written (or even drawn) outline of how Solis City looks.

To address that, I've just finished exactly that. I'm not specifically an artist by trade (anything of any standard takes me days of trial and error to accomplish) so the below artworks are not meant to be anything more than slightly tidied sketches.



Verdamm City
Construction of the city follow the iron mines as they expanded into Mt. Errum itself. The city's centre now sits in the mouth of an enormous cave.



Solis City
Solis was built to house the engineering and maintenance needs of the world's Artificial Sun. As such, the city is built around the titanic 'umbilical' chord that tethers the Artificial Sun to the planet's surface. The constant proximity of the new sun has scorched the lands surrounding Solis, reducing them to grey, cracked deserts. The city is surrounded by crystalline domes where efforts to rejuvenate the terrain are being undertaken with significant success.

I'm really glad you like it, intrigue is something I really want to cultivate. For obvious reasons the demo is just a narrow window onto the game's world. I'm so eager to get making the full game. Just gotta hope Kickstarter is kind and my prep is good.
This is without a dobut, a profesional looking game. If you've put a fraction of the effort into advertising that you have put into making this game, then I bet you'll succed.

I'm trying to do the work of about five or six people. I enjoy the hard work and all of that, but it's still great to hear positive things like that.

I was a bit foolish and didn't start promoting the game until it was released, so I'm a bit behind on that point. Currently trying to design an official website. Why aren't days longer?

I swear, story of my life every day. Always working hard and then realizing the day is over realizing I still need to work on more things.
I rely on long to-do lists. Without them, sometimes I've got so many things to work on that I feel overwhelmed by where to start and get hardly anything done at all.
