(Thanks for waiting for Episode 2! No worries, it's coming along well despite it taking longer than expected.)
Plot

Complete missions to make a name for yourself in society. Customize your party with Glyphs to assist in your struggle for survival. Collecting them and mastering their abilities is the key to vanquishing the enemy!



☆ Story and Setting ☆
Genergy is the widely used yet little understood force that forged the current era of prosperity. Convinced of misuse, a radical group seeks to suppress Genergy's use by any means necessary. Little does anyone know, something vile is planned for the ensuing surplus of energy. It's up to you to prevent a dreadful fate for the planet!

☆ Glyphs - Collect 'em all! ☆
A huge variety of Glyphs, weapons and armors are available to truly customize your battle experience.
Glyphs are the heart and soul of the battle system, allowing characters to cast spells, summon Soulformes, use unique command abilities, boost stats. Glyphs can grant support and passive abilities, too.

☆ Ten towns, 25 dungeons and over 280 different enemies to battle! ☆

Known Bugs:
There are targeting problems when using ATB Mode 0 (Active). Use Mode 1, 2, or 3 instead.
Enemies interact strangely with overhead bridges. Enemies aren't placed near them to mitigate this bug.
Don't save while standing in a doorway; you may get stuck there. If this happens, use a Soaringstone if you have one, or an Escape spell. (Why would you save in a doorway anyway?)

I feel like it's kind of late to start blogging about the game making experience now, but there's no time like the present. I think it'll also be good for me to make a record of what I'd like to implement in the game, in case I forget for some reason.

Requests! I need your help.

The first thing is I'd like to request some cool battle animation sequences (those which are set up in the database) I can do everything on my own but setting up those battle animations has always been my biggest weakness. Obviously you would be given proper credits, and my appreciation for you would be boundless. :) If you're interested, I can provide you the .pngs /.jpgs you'd need to set up the animations in the database, if need be. Or else, if you have cool animations for the game as it is, let me know.

I appreciate any way I can lessen the burden of making the game even as great as it can be.

Upcoming Chapter 2.0

What's better: releasing incremental updates (as in, once a few dungeons have been finished) or just waiting until Chapter 2 is done to release the full 2.0. As it stands, 1.3 contains about 30% of Chapter 2. (I've set up the version numbering to reflect the chapter's completion)

The tone of the game really changes beginning in Chapter 2, especially once you leave Morae-do. Several new characters join, including Benjamin and the Doctor. I won't say who the other characters are; I'll just say that one is integral to the plot while the other two are secret.

Enemies run away from me when I get to kickass level, I like it. Also, mid-20's characters, nicely done. I like seeing something other than a 13-16 year old saves the world.
I was wondering if this game is completed and if it is/ when it is may I do a let's play of it? It looks very good!

Cool, glad you like that. :) Actually, one of the next characters to joins you is the Doctor from the intro (she's an asskicking grandma ^_^). Yeah, if the enemies run away from you, it means you can probably take on the boss easily, or you should probably find another place to grind. I made the game so that grinding isn't necessary though.

The game is as complete as it will be for the next little while. I have to do bug fixes and whatnot for now (there are still quite a few). In my head there's story for another 2 or 3 parts. How about, I'll let you know when I think Part 1 is polished enough for a Let's Play. :) Sound good?

Great. Just so you know there's an update that's fixed some typos and quite a few bug fixes (one kinda nasty one in particular)

At a glance, this looks pretty neat and I feel like giving it a shot. That said, two things...

a) That is way too much info for the Summary page. WAY, WAY, WAY TOO MUCH INFO. It looks like a big forum post that was cut and pasted in...almost certainly because it IS just a big forum post that was cut and pasted in. Use the features that RMN provides! You already have an images section so there's no need to imbed so many in the summary. Split up that character info and credits and features list onto their own pages. RMN's gamepage set up allows all of this. If you don't know how to do any of that, just ask someone. : )

b) I'm going to assume that the "cyberpunk" tag on the gamepage is erroneous? You might want to remove that to avoid disappointing people searching for cyberpunk games. Same with the Modern tag. This looks very much like a typical fantasy RPG with some steampunk trappings.

We certainly SHOULD have a steampunk tag but I'm not sure off the top of my head if we do.

Whoops, I meant to tag steampunk but I was just really tired that night. The game has fantasy, cyberprep and modern elements, so it's kind of hard to classify it. I guess modern/fantasy more than anything.

Thanks for all the tips, I didn't realize what those features were all about. :D Makes everything much cleaner. This website... Me likey. ^_^

finished the prologe b4 the game really starts
so far im quite interested.

possibly the only thing i disliked was the intro b4 you gain control of your character.
i don't think ive ever been in a state where i could fall asleep while playing a game!
too long and boring
a information dump that just had no meaning to the player.

should try t add a option to skip the intro

oh and running away from battles doesn't work,that just plain sucks 100% fail :/

also resetting during a battle leaves the status bar on screen XD

Interestingly in the updated versions the escape formula has been fixed. Hmm... I have a lot of background info I need to relay to the player. I'll look into splitting it up. I can definitely add a skip option though.

I had noticed that status bar not being cleared issue if you reset during battle; after a few scene changes it should go away. I personally never reset just close and reopen so it's never bothered me.
This looks great i'll have to try it out when I get a chance but from what I have seen it looks really good. *Subscribed*
I JUST STARTED PLAYING and thus far I'm enjoying it! I don't really have any feedback yet, but I'll maybe write a review when I'm done? Who knows.

Thanks for all the support guys :) Thanks for the feedback too. Please feel free to give any feedback you may have, and if you encounter any issues (nothing should be game-breaking) just re-download the game since the issue might have been fixed (your save file should still work so no worries).

One of my friends has played through much of the game and helped me squash lots of bugs and typos.

I've also tried hard to make the game manageable to download (encrypting makes it way bigger though). For most devs this game would be probably at least double the megabytes...

If anyone's come across a vehicle bug, redownload the game, it's been fixed as of 1/9/2015 KST.

In the next big release, there will be smoother battle sprites (more frames, say 6 or 8 instead of 4) the next big dungeon (Dulac Keep), and whatever comes after that :). So stay tuned :)
Hey all, the next dungeon, Sandstone Keep, is almost done. I will put up a video sometime soon to show you all what it's like, so far it's looking freaken sweet :)

Also, would anyone be interested in a page that shows all the different Glyphs that are available, and the skills it can give you and whatnot, details like that?
I'd like to take the time to thank all those who have supported me by subscribing and downloading this game.

The newest version of the game contains the last dungeon for this part, the Sandstone Keep. I had been working on the next area, but as I've become much busier with a bunch of non-RPG stuff, I haven't worked on this game since late winter.

I'd love to continue this game; perhaps once the weather starts to get cold again and I get a lot more free time. TBH, the lack of motivation (both internal and external) has essentially halted progress as of right now.

Despite the stresses and annoyances that come with making a game, I have to say that overall the experience of making this game was quite good. I would like to know how you've been enjoying the game though?

I keep crashing after the Intro, after the scientist drives you away. The screen goes black and I get an error for a missing file, but the text is empty.

Thanks for your feedback. I seemed to have introduced a fatal bug for the tileset that map used. It's been fixed with the latest update.
Didnt get far. The lakeside forest was filled with invisible enemies that sneek behind me for back attacks, and I was running out of potions. Then the next battle caused the game to crash.
