Vampires are creatures that live amidst the darkness of eternal night. They have absolutely no regard for human lives and treat them like stones to be kicked away.

One night, a girl was running in a forest while being chased by three bandits. Then a black-clothed man passed by and subsequently took them down easily. The girl, who thought she was saved by him, wanted to repay him and thus invited him to her village.

......The man, who was actually a vampire, smiled and accepted her invitation. After all, the more prey, the merrier......

Nocturne: Rebirth (月夜に響くノクターン Rebirth) is a popular 10 to 20-hour (story-wise) dark fantasy JRPG originally created using RPG Maker XP in 2009 by Shou (or Cogwheel) and translated into English by me, eplipswich. It is actually the remake of the game Nocturne created using RPG Maker 2000 way back in 2002. The differences between the two include new graphics and a new battle system, with only the story virtually unchanged. This version serves as the English version of Nocturne: Rebirth. It is also my second game translation after Seraphic Blue.

Nocturne: Rebirth is notable for
- A highly original ATB battle system
- Touch-based enemy encounters
- Slick battle animations
- A highly versatile character levelling system via skill upgrades
- Unique Familiar Summon System
- Almost 100% custom graphics
- Characters that players can sympathize with
- Unique soundtracks
and so much more!

Japanese Trailer (Will make an English trailer in the future):

Latest Blog

Blog 18: Boy, has it been a while. 10,000 downloads and what's been going on

Well, first of all, this is late, but better late than never. Nocturne Rebirth has officially become one of the big boys of 10k downloads, so congrats on that!

So if you've been wondering what has been going on, I'm still translating the visual novel called Aiyoku no Eustia, so once again, if you're interested in that, you can check it out at https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/16982-aiyoku-no-eustia-translation-project-partial-patch-is-out/

Then what about the RPG Maker scene? Remember what I said before about the game Hat World/Hatalonia at http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/littleworld/? Well, a revamp of it just got released about 7 months ago, with the latest version just released last month! I'm currently playing it, and I'm really enjoying it! Truly, I feel this game deserves to be translated. But I will only most likely embark on translating this game after I'm done playing it and I'm substantially done with translating Aiyoku no Eustia, so it'll be a long wait. Hopefully you'll see a game page of Hatalonia here next year! So do look forward to it.

So yep, that's really it from me for now. Till next time!

Especially what does Elemental Raid do?

See here: https://rpgmaker.net/games/7809/?post=701845#post701845

Also, Elemental Raid is simply where Khaos changes the element of his magic spells. It's sort of like a charging move.

Loot Rise, or any other Rise skills, does not stack :)

Drop rate of Full Moon Sword ranges from 2% to 20%. (20% is if you're lucky, though).
Sorry to bother you again. Whenever I try to open my game this error pops up. Any ways to fix this (I've tried re-downloading the game.)

What is the calculation of drop rates of items if Loot Rise was equipped? I tried grinding for Phoenix Feathers, to no avail.

Doesn't the description of Loot Rise skill tell you the percentage? I remember it does.

So if it's 30% Loot rise and assuming Phoenix Feathers is 4% rate, then drop rate should increase by 30% of the 4%.

If you want guaranteed Phoenix Feathers though, I would suggest New Game+ (Well, that's if you can defeat the optional boss 1st Round at Brave Clear or defeat the optional boss 2nd round).

@Jan20811: Hmm, I'll have to look into this. Give me some time to do that :)
the game is incredible. thanks a lot for the amazing translation. it's the best RPG game I've ever played and trust me I've played a lot :D
I've finished the game but not with the brave clear 'cause I still have troubles with that it's too difficult. I'll keep trying. thanks again
On a NG+ run, I ran into this weird bug. NG+ is supposed to take away all your recipes, yet when I talk to Khaos, he has recipes beyond the ones I currently have in the manual. However, trying to make stuff outside the initial recipes causes the item to disappear from his alchemy list if you run out of ingredients for that item.
I keep reloading my save to Brave Clear
Idith 2
but I keep getting Snow Bracelet. Just what is going on here?
This boss battle is just one of many boss battles where reloading will not change the rewards. There's only two dungeons where reloading will change the rewards: Wind Tunnel and Teiwaz Valley.

Well, at least according to this link: http://www16.atwiki.jp/nocturnerebirth/pages/47.html The words highlighted in red indicates change in rewards upon reloading, while the words highlighted in blue indicate permanent rewards.
That's a shame. I really thought this was my chance to get Cloudy Bracelet. On the bright side, I can now put in a Developer's Foresight entry into the tropes page.
I finally managed to beat the bonus boss with Reviel Level 40 solo, but for some reason, the Brave Clear didn't trigger. The only other party member I have in reserve is Level 5 Luna. Is this because I already have a Rush Chimera from my previous run?

Yeah, I think that's probably it.

Apparently, there's some kind of modded version of the game with more treasure chests, but harder bosses. For example, the video in the link shows the party fighting against 6 Ristill clones instead of 4.
whelp, while trying to grab that last stinking dino jaw, I picked up a Full Moon Sword and TWO Setsunas. Yes.

This actually served to get me killed faster, since the reflex ice move of the final boss triggers at hp thresholds, and I kinda....blazed through the hp. STILL don't have the dino jaw, damnit.

I....don't think it's a bug. I think there are just some items you can make without having the actual recipes, like teasers when you pick up a new alchemy item before the recipes are available.

I dunno, maybe Khaos is supplying these particular recipes?
Wait, am I reading this right? Damage from sorcerous swords are fixed.....but they're also PHY type. So equipping barrier amulet and cloud bracelet is dropping Full Moon Sword down to 2 damage per tick. I feel overpowered.

Edit: I have become immune to sorcerous damage. I think I figured out how all these solo runs work.
In my case, I never got Cloud Bracelet to drop, so I had to use two Stone Rings and one Barrier Amulet. A shame, since this means I have to use up 3 slots instead of 2. Still, congrats on becoming OP!
no, uh, cloud bracelet and barrier amulet doesn't cut it, you still need a stone ring. I'm hoping 2 cloud bracelets will free up space for some actual magic defense, but if it doesn't I suppose there needed to be SOME weakness.

Edit: I see Curse was designed to make solo runs EXTREMELY difficult....

1. No word from the developer of a sequel, so yeah, like J-Man said, don't think there will be. Besides, I think the Nocturne story ended pretty perfectly.

You think so? I can imagine an alternate scenario for the story.

Starting from Luna's trip into Khaos' Territory, Sylphiel doesn't come help and Khaos sends Luna into a mini-dungeon to "test" her. This leads up to Syphiel having a fight with Khaos and revealing that the time travel did work, but the original girl still died. In this timeline though, the soul/memories were completely retained by Sylphiel as a familiar due to it being done before the "essence" could dissipate.

Sylphiel leaves with Luna to Algiz, and we start on a retrospective story about the Revolutionary War. Luna, Madoc, and Idith(no Maxwell) become your main party with lots of dialogue with Rosch and Milphiel. Reviel is busy sleeping.

And we figure out why Sylphiel and Milphiel have such similar names.

Whoops, my mistake. According to the Atwiki, Cloud Bracelet only reduces physical damage by 6 while other Bracelets reduce elemental damage by 8.

Yeah, Curse is pretty bad. On the bright side, the final boss can only inflict it with a dark spell, which means complete dark resistance will prevent it. I don't think there's a way to block it against the other bosses that use it, though those bosses can be silenced.
