I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The ability to not give a fuck =/= the inability to give a fuck.

The key is to understand that there are things worth caring about and things not worth caring about.

and yet all over the place I see people who pump themselves up over not caring about social issues (read: not being of a group who's affected by social issues + not having empathy for people who are)

but who will nonetheless declare a fucking blood feud on you if you criticize their work or media they enjoy

I like talking about things that I like. I get upset by talking about things that upset me. That's not really a paradox or anything - things that enrich your life are worth caring about, and things that make your life worse when you think about them aren't.

What's "worth caring about" is entirely subjective and this is kind of an excuse that people who couldn't be damned to self-examine themselves would use. You really 'ought to know better.

If it's subjective, then trying to tell everyone else that they should care about what you care about and getting mad when they don't is dumb.

It's okay to have stuff you're passionate about, but don't treat people who aren't like the enemy. Because it's also okay to have stuff you're not passionate about.

I don't know, I think there are some things that are objectively worth caring about, like the fact that there are more people in slavery today than at any point in human history.

That's worth caring about if you're in a position to do anything about it. If not, you're just making yourself miserable. Donate $100 to UNICEF and move on with your life.
