BLUMIU'S PROFILE

Hello! BluMiu here and I'm no stranger to RM as I've been around some years now, off and on due to life and work outside. I'm an artist that's recently gotten back into doing commission work for game makers as well as on my own. Eventually I'd like to work on game after finish writing book and putting together art book, but for now I'd like to explore the other artists on the forums, learn new things for the future and share my own works :)
Hope to see you around!

Yeah, a visual novel is a good bet when you have the illustrations and it is more about talky writing. Plus these days even VNs can have a bit of gameplay in some form.

Being able to draw for your game is already a huge step. People can usually master an engine in time provided they focus on it and have skill but then you hit a wall in the form of art and music. If you do not want premade stuff then having the skill to create your own is a big plus.

Well, nobody said it is easy and it sure is a big time sink :D

Indeed, I just can't imagine the events working out as an RPG since it is a lot of dialogue, drama and more psychological/horror aspects at points due to Miriam's mental trauma. I was thinking about having gameplay aspect to it and how that could work, but haven't come up with anything solid since not at that point yet.

I'm the opposite end of the spectrum, but if I ever find the time to learning how to create a graphic novel or find a program which makes it easier (there is one on Steam but not sure of all its capabilities with inserting gameplay at points). Making the artwork perfect and presentable is a task in itself. Definitely nothing easy gained, haha

Streaming or Dreaming. [Liberty's Streaming and LP thread]

Sounds interesting :) I'll try and check it out according to schedule if not working. And your illness sounded the same as mine, terrible thing not even I'm sure what it was.

Animated GIFs :D

No idea what some of the things I just saw where >_>

Yesss! All my CV sense are tingling, haha :D
He looks way too cool! I really enjoy this type of dark fantasy drawings but I am either too lazy to search properly or not many people draw in this style.
That dark gothic almost anime like stuff. Is there a proper word?

Anyway.
Are these ALL for a possible game or an illustrated story? Because it is pretty obvious you have a lot of lore and relationships planned. Some authors develop as they go.

(sorry for spam)

I'm actually somewhat glad to make the change to dark fantasy (even though not the only thing I do) because I really don't see that a lot or perhaps haven't come across it. Variety is always a great thing and allows more options. Pretty much just as you said, but especially so when glancing over projects in development.
I think the genre in anime is called gothic, but can be categorized in different things like fantasy, cyberpunk and supernatural, like as sub-genres.

Depends on what I'm posting. If it is for the Eternity project, I would love to make the entirety into a game in the future, but that will consume all my free-time, so I'll have to be in a good position to devote towards it mentally and financially. For some if not all stories I wanted to do an artbook for, but for others like ALTER, Musuko no Kaminari, likely not. I can more see those as manga along with Kimono POW, but if I was never able to do a game, I'd make the Eternity series into manga as well.
Story had always been important to me, but I started doing concepts, bios, terminology and timelines with a game in mind. I'll see what feels right after my first book is done or have enough a collection of short stories. Innocenza couldn't be a game because it centers more on interpersonal drama, but seems a visual novel game.

Prince of the Rose Palace illustration

Eternity: Prince of the Rose Palace begins the series with the story of Viennri Manalodia Valerius Arcturus. The Kingdom of Lithavania is at its height when an heir is born to Viennrose Rondomel and Viennrosette Rosalba. Born with the mark of his ancestor Calamus, his strong affinity with the abyss deems him worthy for Court Sorceress Ziva to bestow him with Scarlet Queen, the fail-safe of the Origin Glyph. This was a wise decision given that once rival's ruler in Betamoth passed the throne to his son, Sharad, the patterns for the Origin Glyph were taken to the Ariem empire and war was declared a short time after. Though understanding his father's hesitation, Manalodia challenges Emperor Sharad himself; his Scarlet Queen and Sword of Rose against the Betamoth army and its amalgamations created by the Penumbra's magic.

Innocenza- The Man in Blue

Once again set for my next destination under the Lord's guidance, I ignore the ache creeping up my decrepit leg and push on with purpose in mind. The sky was perfect blue with gossamer clouds floating west, a good sign for my travels. Lord Kean and his subjects of Austenburg had welcomed me graciously, but in my heart of hearts, I knew their devotion had been condition and not an in-born love. Even so, I preached with that in mind.

Crossing the small bridge drew me toward the crossroads I had come a month earlier. I had to decide whether to head back and direct myself to Horne or westward through a small stretch of rural villages; the simpler the life, the more receptive the heart I had found. As I came to the opening of the forest path, the shade of it's evergreen limbs welcome me into its indigenous bosom.

It was then I came to a sudden stop, my luggage of scripture, a change of clothes, writing utensils and a swaddle of baked bread from Lady Keane's kitchen nearly doubled me forward, putting strain on my left leg. But it was what was before that startled me, cradled into themselves by the roadside in the shade of a burke. Small in form I immediately surmised them to be tender in age, resting or perhaps deep in slumber.

They had not taken notice of my presence as I stood as a voyeur, unsure whether to disturb them or ask if they were in need of some assistance. Austenburg was only three miles back if they were in need of escort. Deciding it best err on the side of compassion, it was not even a full step in that the cloaked stranger shot me a sudden and piercing gaze; I immediately froze in place, not in peril of the fierce fiery red eyes that held me, but in the desperate and circumspect nature they possessed.

Her pale skin seemed to glow in the light that streamed over my shoulder, streams of blonde hair hanging down into her face. This was a Penumbra girl, most certainly stranded if the hunts had taken her this far.

"E-Excuse me..." I sheepishly stammered, unsure of whether any tone could be taken in peace.

It would seem not as she suddenly sprung to her feet, but then hobbled to the side. In what I thought was weariness from her flight, in which it may still have been, I then beheld in the most acute bewilderment and horror at what protruded from beneath her shroud. In all my life I have never witnessed such a thing nor wish to ever again, but it took me back in a baffled daze.

Off into the wood she disappeared with the grace and speed of a ferline, leaving me in but a moment in the symphony of the forest. Both my hands trembled and so i sat down my bag and gave myself a moment to collect myself against the closest tree. That young girl, that child was heavy with child...

It's true I didn't take character traits, or abilities, into consideration. I appreciate the explanation!

No worries, I doubt anyone could have thought such given there's no explanation thereof. I tend to assume the audience knows what I know ^^;

Heh. But I guess mercenaries are rarely normal... in various ways.
If anything, it might create some competitive problems.
Still, whatever gets the job done I suppose :D

It certainly worked out for the benefit of the band she was with, but even among the ranks, having even a woman outdo men in even strength is going to stand out and raise questions; Alemayehu has her brawn to outclass most, but when someone half her size can best her, you're going to stand out.

Mercenaries tend to do whatever pays as well, so ability aside, getting the job done as you said is what matters in the end. Rema's principle and morals would get in the way before anything else, which becomes a trend for her ^^
