What games did you grow up on?

I beat Final Fantasy when I was 6 (1990). I beat Dragon Warrior III a year later.

The Israeli Palestinian Conflict.

It's not like it's equal force. Israel has one of the biggest most well equipt army int he world and Hamas has a few rockets. There's reasons for Hamas's election and the election itself is well documented. There's reasons the Middle East is angry at Israel. And there's reasons that all countries except America are condemning Israel's attack.

Post an interesting fact about yourself!

I don't think I posted this picture here yet, have I? It's older than the first few pics I posted, so I'm assuming not.

A racial and cultural topic!

I've met black people at a young age (in Vancouver), but it wasn't until I was 21 in Japan that I met an African-American, which was a completely different experience. It sometimes (not all the time) made me feel nervous about everything I said because of misinterpretations to racism and touchiness on certain subjects that a few of the African-American people I met seemed to have (perhaps with good reason, I'm not sure).

That's not race though, but culture. Black people I've met in Canada usually have a very different history and culture, and act very differently.

In this topic I briefly comment on every video game I've ever played.

For those of us older, that post reminds us of Desert Strike for the SNES.

That was good times. I heard Soviet Strike was also really good. There's one or two more I think. Jungle Strike, and....?

Wii Music

Did you guys try the drums with the balance board? Drums in general were pretty intense and a lot less just shaking it.

I did enjoy the shaking it though. For being a conductor, it did make enough of a difference that if you were good, the piece sounded really good, and if you weren't good, it sounded disjointed.

Also, taking a piece of music and deciding what instruments to play how and when is also pretty creative.

It's quirky, and I can get why people don't like it (and why it's not selling well), but I think it's super rad.

I like having characters that want to be good guys and think it's important to save the day. That's who I like role playing as. Also, the more simple the characters, the more is left up to the imagination.

I demand very different types of stories and methods of story telling from video games and books.

But I guess I'm a guy who likes the Dragon Quest-style type of story telling the best for RPGs.

Wii Music

Has anyone played it? I played it for the first time, and I thought it was really fun. Being a conductor, or the mini game with the bells.

All the different instruments as well is pretty intense.

I'm considering buying it in a month or two.

Before playing it, I thought it'd be really really lame.

I think for the most part, having the majority of characters static in RPGs can be a good thing, and Chrono Trigger is a case of where it is a good thing.

Also, as a person who finds the characters in Chrono Trigger boring, can you please tell me which RPG's characters you find interesting? I'm genuinely curious.
