Bring it on!

/ME THROWS UP THE HORNS.

Very good game, loved the atmosphaire, the nice and fast-paced combat and the quite extensive skill learning system. There is plenty room for improving but, although I do have some ideas of my own, I will remain silent and see how you develop part 2. Really looking out for it, keep up the good job!

Forever's End Review

Nice review, though I would disagree in 2 topics. 1st, the rating is a bit too low imo, especially in the story and character topics. It is a demo of the game so it is obvious the story is far from complete plotwise, and the character depth likewise. Your ranking is a bit severe for a demo of a game and especially for a well-done one as Forever's End is. Second and more important (and much less objective):(Quoting) "Combat is standard rm2k3 fare but it doesn't happen so often that you find yourself constantly in conflict. In fact you have to really try to grind to grind since monsters are encountered on the field to prompt a combat and there typically aren't many.(/End Quote) Hmm are we on the same game here? Average monsters 2 groups for small rooms and 10+ for large, plus respawn, plus insane run speed? When in the dungeons, 80% of the time you spend in a battle, more than even random fights games (partially because of the slow fights too). Sure, if you are grinding the leveling is much slower than random fight RPGs where you stay in 1 small area and fight, but why would you grind in an single player RPG anyway?
Aside from that point and a somewhat unjust (in my opinion) rating, the points you highlight in your review are deadly accurate, a good review!

Progress Report

I am rooting for a non-respawn version of the game, too. Truth be told, I would be happy with the old version's features and no respawns in it.

Forever's End

I agree and disagree with ZPE. The game is not difficult, this is not the reason that many people stop playing it after the first hour. It's because it becomes BORING. The battle system is totally messed up imo. We have slow battles, with high HP-powered enemies, which respawn way too fast and hunt you like 100m champions. The problem is not so obvious in the first dungeons, but really shows its face in the Desert Ruins area. I would suggest either lowering the HP values of the enemies, making battles faster and more enjoyable, or even better, since you have made the enemies visible already, remove the respawn and make monsters respawn only when you leave the dungeon. Other than that, Forever's End is an excellent game. Gief NO-RESPAWN version plx!

Hello guys (and girls? ;p)

A hearty hello from me, and a thumbs up for the great work on this site!

Some little things about me: Male, some 25 years old, from small lovely Greece (no native english speaker, forgive my typos ;D). While not a creator myself, I am quite an experienced video game player "specialising" in RPGs if I say so myself, so I am gonna be busy commenting on your projects most of the time (evil laugh). Fav rpg series is the Breath of Fire one (Breath of fire 2 on snes introducing me to the world of Rpgs ;) ) That's all, I think.

Keep up the good work!

Path of Justice

Fieeew this game is hard! Just made it to stage 3 of onyx cave where I got busted >. The last boss is ImPoSsIbLe T.T

Extraneous

Cool game, I especially loved the well-made menu screen and the music. Going for an action based combat system? Hmm good luck to you then, its not the easiest thing to accomplish, but its a welcome change to the original turn-based Rpgs. Just try to limit the number of different shortcuts for skills - noone wants to memorise dozens of shortcuts ;p. An option to assign shortcuts to skills would be great!
P.S. Found a small bug, in one of the houses (the one with the bones outside), you could walk in the tile of the stairs(you have to press space to do so, dunno why) and then go left, in which point you became stuck (coulsn't move in any direction) and had to restart.
