Answering the "are you a bot" question was more philosophically challenging than it should have been.

Your English is good.

I didn't even notice you are Italian. Your English is really good.

Thank you. °° Since I don't "officially" study English, becoming better at it is one of the reason I hang around English boards, actually. XD

Wither Review

I find this review... kinda strange.
It's like going to a soccer player and telling him "Hey, you're a pretty good soccer player, but soccer sucks so you suck. Real men play football. Still, you're good at playing sucky soccer, so I concede you may be better than people who suck at playing sucky soccer."

I seriously thought it was some kind of joke I didn't understand until I read the comments, where it seems it's serious. Unless they're all part of the joke, I guess.
And I hope you'll believe me if I say I don't look at scores, stars or such until I've actually read the review.

(And as others said, if you voice your opinion this strongly, you should expect others to respond just as strongly, you know)

I liked the title, though.

Visual appeal vs other content

As somebody before me already said, comedy is one of the hardest thing to evaluate. So, what I'm about to say is more IMO than ever: I think random cameos actually detract from the "comedy value" of your story, rather than adding to it.

Actually, it's more complicated than that: one or two cameos in the right places can be pretty funny. But too many will destroy immersion in the game world, which is the basis for both comedy and drama.
How many is too many is even more subjective and even more difficult to define, obiviously.

(As I said before, this doesn't count if the fact that characters from many universes meet each other is part of the game world itself)

Free Action Burst Battle System (FAB/BS Discussion)

I think the big hit-or-miss factor will be how much you'll be able to differentiate characters while still mantaining a theme for each one of them.

And RPGers everywhere were all being snobbish like "graphics are meaningless, the only reason anyone likes FF7 or anything else with 3D graphics is because they are little kids who don't understand what makes games truly great, no one who actually is a gamer gives a flying shit about graphics, it doesn't change what's underneath"
What happened to that attitude, that was the best, when did we stop thinking that way :(
Yeah, we liked games before they got mainstream, and that gave us istant moral superiority. (Where is a picture of hipster glasses when you need one?) Wait, you mean this attitude isn't still around?

YEAH RIGHT! Instant characterization. You know nothing about MY Snake, but you'll be right if you think he's exactly like THE Snake. Also impossible without mix matching facesets. Yeah, I know I could match the charasets too. I been working on that. But facesets are a no go.

You know, I'm not sure this is a good idea even ignoring the graphics...
I've always found games who include lots of characters from other stories pretty boring. May be a personal taste, though.
Unless the story itself is based around that (multiple universes, Kingdom Hearts style, or some kind of space-time anomaly that makes normaly separate realities clash...)

It was the misadventures of me and m school mates and stuff

If you want to create something like that, you'll have to always keep asking yourself "Can this be enjoyable even for someone who doesn't know me?"
My own game started as a similar thing, so I believe (I hope) it can become as good as any other game, if you do it carefully.

Remember two things: references do not equal humor; inside jokes are very annoying for anybody who isn't "in".

And good luck! The world needs more lighthearted games.

Visual appeal vs other content

Anyway, I just realized I've gotten away from my real point.

Which is: graphics is not a "marketing tool" for the game, but an important part of the experience, just as gameplay, story and everything else.

True, and in fact our natural generalizing of the people we meet is the source of all prejudice and stigma in the world. Since nobody can take the time to know every individual personally, we judge people by what we can clearly see. Everybody does this, and the only way to temper this reaction and to avoid making unfair generalizations is to become educated; about people, games, or anything else.

Huh... I think you're overdemonizing that.
I mean, theoretically I'm against prejudice as much as everybody, but when you meet 100 new people (or games) and you have the time to get to know better just 2 or 3 of them, you have no choice other than using some kind of prejudices.
So, in these cases, the best you can do is choosing a rational set of prejudices.
If I had to define "the source of all stigmas", it would be people choosing prejudices without any statistical basis.

To be less metaphorical: you cannot deny that in RPGMaker communities there is a relationship between graphic quality and total effort put into the game.
So, if I have time to try 3 or 4 games out of 100 I'll want to maximize my chances they'll be good ones, and graphics will be a factor in that.

I can't believe I'm defending prejudices.

At the risk of being ridiculously flamed, I don't see what's so bad about living with your parents no matter what age you are, as long as you're able to support yourself financially.

After a while you really start to need more freedom. I did, at least.

Well, that's kind of how real life works too. Appearances do matter, as they affect our initial reception of something or someone. If a person is well dressed and shows good hygiene, one will likely have a better initial response to said individual than if he were badly dressed and unwashed.

Well, there's the fact someone going around badly dressed and unwashed is usually a sign of a poor/unhealty lifestyle. We don't only judge appearances themselves, but also their implications. (It seems off topic but it isn't, I swear, it's all huge metaphor)
