It's a nice script. Maybe if you change weapons and armor into "feature_objects" it will be much better since it will also check states, class, and actor notebox. So the tag works on everything!

You're not wrong. I figured .state? already exists and I didn't need the check the others for my project, so *shrug* maybe I'll update after the contest. Anybody using it is more than welcome to tweak it for themselves, too :)

My main inspiration has been 2001: A Space Odyssey. That might not entirely make the setting clear other than "the future", but... ;)

It's a jazzed-up WaR system but still fundamentally the same. You'll still equip spells, stock up AP, and find obscene combos. The main additions are BPF (a constantly regenerating shield that takes damage before HP), Aspects (the more any combatant -- ally or enemy -- uses Solar or Lunar abilities, the stronger their attacks are but the weaker they become to the opposite attribute), and Grand Exorcisms ('limit break'-style moves that grow stronger each time you use one in a battle).
