Disgaea 3 (PS3) and the Disgaea series

Playing Disgaea was like looking at the mirror and seeing myself slowly turn into a withered old man. Watching grass grow is more exciting than the grindfest that is Disgaea. When you're 12 and have absolutely nothing better to do than to rot in front of the TV then Disgaea might seem like a good pick. Past that age devoting a hundred hours to beat it is the epitome of brain dead. Compared to other tactical jRPGs this game doesn't feel like a wargame at all, more like a game about a wargame simulator with cosplayers beating each other on the head with sticks.

I can somewhat understand someone enjoying the characters and their antics, but wouldn't you be better off simply watching the anime adaptation?

And I'm not exaggerating here, this series and the company that produces these games are a phenomenon to me. All their games are IDENTICAL. Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, La Pucelle, some other shit I can't be bothered to memorize the title of... Identical style, identical stories, identical paper-cutout characters, identical items, jobs and monsters... Has anyone played any of these games, looked back and said: "Hot damn! Those were some of the most awesome 100 hours I spent playing a video game! Like, ever!" Has anyone NOT thought: "God, I've just wasted a hundred hours of my life and I'm not getting them back!" Is there any sort of payoff to these games?

Guess that game!

OK, the game was Big Karnak for the arcades. I honestly thought it was a bit more popular, but I guess not :D

Guess that game!

It's an actual pharaoh kicking THE Osiris's butt with an actual boomerang. Oh, and Osiris turns into a pterodactyl that poops eggs that kill you or turn into frogs with human heads. The game is an action platformer. I have no idea how popular it was, but I used to play it all the time when I was a kid. I never beat it back then :D

Guess that game!

A pharaoh kills Osiris with a boomerang. One-hit KO galore!

Guess that game!

The power of Google tells me it could be Ephemeral Fantasia.

Umm, first you're complaining that all you got here were complaints and not a single positive comment, and now you're saying that your game is garbage and you're fully aware of it. If so, why are you surprised that people complain about it if it's garbage? Isn't it a normal reaction to say out loud that something sucks if it REALLY sucks?

You're either a liar or delusional. And yes, your behavior IS juvenile, believe it or not. All I can say is - get a grip man. Can love bloom on your battlefield?

It shows that you're one of the "old guard", Indogutsu. The days of "I hate this community I'm quitting and taking all my games with me, your loss!" drama are over, something the old school developers can't seem to accept.

If you don't care about the feedback you receive on RMN, then simply stop visiting this site, but keep your game files up so that people can still download and play it and maybe, just maybe enjoy it and write to you personally via e-mail. I mean, why not? Why is this such a foreign concept to you? Why rage quit and take your game down? It's juvenile and AFAIK you are an old coot by RM standards, so this behavior doesn't suit you.

Geez, people being incapable of dealing with such situations in a rational manner make me angry.

Dragon Quest is everything I dislike about jRPGs. It contains all the least fun aspects of the genre with none of the fun or interesting.
Yeah in DQ something is missing...

Maybe to few yaoi scenes or lolitas for your flavor?

Trollololtastic!

Not.

And where it stayed for DQ. But this isn't the place to discuss this topic. It's LOVE AND HATE ARE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN.
