Nope. Fran works perfectly. At least the version I have. Maybe it's an old one, though I don't think so.

At this point you're either just doing something wrong or it's an anomaly. I started the game, and the first event I got was from Masako's pack. I can't help you out until you provide us with more info. How about some screens taken on the directories?

I doubt you lack it. Flowerthief developed the Heartache scripting language as user-friendly. You can learn the basics in twenty minutes. In fact, go ahead and consult with Mr. Help.html(yes, he's a male. Don't ask.) in the game's main folder for help in custom content development.

... Careful. There's no such thing as being 'far too smart' to end up in an asylum. You IQ could be at the level of Einstein's, but insanity makes you predictable. I know my IQ to be above 120(regrettably we don't have the facilities for more accurate IQ tests. The economy, you know?) but intelligence in itself never saved anyone.
I don't think you're mad to a dangerous degree, though:) Some people are just violent. When displayed at such a young age, other people tend to overreact. You still very well could be a normal, quirky person.
