How are you guys?
A demo should be however long it needs to be to hook players but still be within reason. If that's 3-4 hours, it could mean that your demo is showing too much or it could mean that you need to rethink your storytelling.
I played one once where I quit after an hour or so of nothing catching my eye and the dev was like "oh, if you just held on for X more hours it would've gotten really good." LOL nuts to that.
Some of the best demos I've played were pretty short.

Tea Party progress 2016-12-3
Oooooooooooooh so pretty. If I could get any one dev skill back, it'd be drawing. Good CGs just do so much for a game.
Also, when I zoomed into your screenshot I noticed the freckles. Good detail.
I hear ya about December. I've always favoured Halloween over Xmas just because Halloween is so chill and Xmas is basically "Stress: the holiday". Even now that I have so few people to shop for and so few things to do, everyone else is so stressed that I have to really struggle to not get stressed myself. I never hear a parent in a store yell at their kid, saying they're going to "ruin Halloween for everyone" but I hear it for xmas all the time.

Update 11/23
No worries about the schedule. Everyone should understand. Show me a game that's made quickly and I'll show you either a rushed, crappy game or a game made by some silver spoon brat who doesn't understand the work needed to make a good game. Either way, those games will be halfassed.
Games need resources needed: time and money.
Job = -time +money
Education = ---time ---money and then much later on -time +++money
As for screenshots, for a horror game I'd say few well-selected ones are best. For example, Alison Door had a fantastic screenshot selection. Lots of screenshots reveal too much. The absolute worst thing that can happen with horror game screenshots is that a player's familiarity overtakes their anticipation.
As for collectibles and unlockables, this is NEVER a bad thing. One of Dragnfly's rules of gaming states "players love to climb, they love to collect things, they love to double jump".
"As always, thank you for following the development of The Doctrine of Perseverance!" darn Youtube. I always hear lines like this like they're being read by Yanderedev.

Help plz
Adding features to make gameplay is bad. Making gameplay that requires the feature is good.
Does your gameplay, puzzles, etc require 8-way movement? If not, then no. Leave it out. It's one more thing that will hinder your project and unless you specifically need it for certain puzzles, it's an unnecessary feature that can only result in bugs and wasted time. Nice to have, but only worth it if it has a purpose.

I dunno. .CSS is so intimidating and strange to me that when it comes time for me to make a gamepage I'm just going to hire somebody. When I learned web design it was all basic HTML. Image maps, tables and frames yo. Flash was brand new. So .CSS blows my mind.
I can get around the problem by just changing my text to match whatever hair colour the last character to kill me in a game had.

D'awwwwww thanks. I really love mecha. Especially Real Robot style.
(disclaimer: real robot does not mean real robot.)

Yay for getting advice from somebody who found out this game exists about 3 minutes ago.
To sidestep the issue entirely, change the name. IMO just not to any of the examples you gave but that's just my preference.
Just as an aside, I think you shouldn't change God Nakaishi at all. You're clearly harkening back to the anime mecha space operas and that's a super common way to name the advanced version. From what I see, it denotes power, not specifically religion. We don't campaign to change God Mode to something "less offensive." You shouldn't have to change your God Nakaishi
If it's a huge problem, since there's a heavy Japanese feel to it already you can just go with Shin Nakaishi, Nakaishi Zero or Cho Nakaishi. Other possibilities I like are a Nakaishi Neos, Brave Nakaishi and Nakaishi Emerge.
Apart from the Galax mineral, are there any other traits or themes your mecha use? For one of my very old and failed projects my mecha were music-influenced so their upgraded versions used Italian musical terms of increasing emphasis... and then Raxephon came out and I felt validated:)
So yeah, you don't need to change anything but if you do, you can have much more impact by beng unique in your renaming.
