The Ancient is beatable as low as level 50. And you can equip multiple of the same badge, but I would also like a way to be able to throw away excess badges.

Well, the battle ends with the same animation, cutscene, and ending as when you kill her, so I consider it defeated :p. Seems pretty much impossible to actually deal the damage to kill her in >10 minutes.
