Release Something! Day [Discussion Thread]
Hero: Ephren's Journey.
I really like this one. I don't know why...but it just seems good. The battle system is real nice and it just appears to be so clean. Can't really say anything bad, actually. Ha ha. Battle animations are nice, as well are the ones outside battle. Character sets are also good, gotta love the wide variety of positions that you have them in.
However...
In the beginning, once you fight against that man...are you supposed to lose? I was thinking so as he delt over 9200 damage to me in one hit. So I waited...and I found out that you got a nice Game Over screen once you died. Then I was like "Whaaaat the hell?" and exited. The ATB bar could also use a little brightening up, as I can hardly see it at all when it is charging up. Though that is not really a big thing to worry about. Also, I don't really that that music really fits in the beginning. Don't know why, but it just does not seem to blend in very well with what is occuring.
Still, the battles are great and I just love going through them. Definitly a great job there.
All in all I thought it was a good job that you (and whoever helped) did with this.
For Hellion.
(I'm telling all of this while I am playing, just so you all know >.>)
Ha ha! One of my favorites. Helion is definitly a great game, and Kentona, you definitly did a great job with designing it. I would say that you are much better than me at creating NES-like RPGs. From Hero's Realm to Hellion, everything is just done very good.
-Graphics in Hellion are nice. I like the old Daragon Warrior IV graphics you used (and I see it also has some stuff from III). They are bright and colorfull and just relay that sense that you're actually playing a game which could possibly belong to the NES.
-In the beginning of the game I picked an Elementalist. Mages are the most fun to play in my books. They have a great variety of spells and you don't just mash the space key to kill things. In almost every game you can pick a class I shall always pick at least two mages. Though...when they run out of MP you better watch out, as their Physical Attack is usually pretty useless.
-The Skills Menu is a good addition as well. A nice way to gain abilities instead of leveling up or using an item on one of your characters. I can also say the same thing about the Abilities Menu. Tons of choices, but of course I only picked Bashing twice <.< I don't know why.
-I hate that damn man in the beginning >.< He won't let me check his last damn pot. He is definitly hiding something in there <.<
-Exploring is nice, as I actually get rewarded for rooting through other peoples drawers!I like the way the bag/whatever pops abouve your head when you find something. I just wish i didn't explore too far. Why did that damn kid have to be on the OTHER side of the poison pool!? You don't warn someone about stuff like that AFTER they have crossed it! I want to just kick him down, like the old man i am, and then rub his face in it.
- Woot. I gots myself a healer. Seems like thats the only thing he can do judging by this skills. At least he didn't lie.
-Taloon! I know that name from somewhere...
-Is there ANY way to get that misses who asks you to call her pretty to join your party? o.O
- Poor little kingsley..not only is he insane, he's pink! With wings on his hat! Not that I can say much, as I lok green and old and seem like I have one foot which wiggles back and forth.
-Interesting...a preist named Pablo who talks about himself in 3rd person. Hmm.
-Why will Pablo not revive my main character if he dies..? I choose "Revive Allies" and nothing happens =\ Is this only for the other people you have in your party?
-The inn also does not heal my dead leader. Nooo!!! My mage! Is it supposed to be like this?
Anyway, after that I went down into the pit and went exploring. Thank god for Cristo! If is was not for him I would be dead already thanks to those godly slimes. However, as I said before, my main fellow was stuck dead. It could be just me being dumb...but Iunno. All in all, it is a great game. Make sure to finish this one, Kentona!!!

Release Something! Day [Release Thread]
Dragon Fantasy

A game made to represnet those made for the NES. However, unlike it's previous incarnations, this version has undergone a rather extensive upgrade of it's story. A mix between Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior, Dragon Fantasy takes aspects from both and mingles them into one. There are no spell animations, no deep and complex story, no flashy graphics, minimal Battle Backgrounds and a rather hard difficulty requiring leveling up in some sections of the beginning.

1) Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings.
2) Final Fantasy III.
3) Children Of Mana.
4) Super Mario 64 DS.
Mind you, these are the only Nintendo DS games I've gotten/played...so I don't have a Top 10 >.>

Dragon Quest: Kingdom of the Twin Gem
I gotta say...this actually looks good! Everything looks very good so far and the menu's definitly put me in mind of the ones from the SNES DW remake.
[DESIGN] World Maps - how do you go about them?
I just do it like this:
1) Write up a section of the story and then flesh it out.
2) Make the World Map as I go along, building on as the story seems fit.
Then I just add in the places, events and start over again. So far, the World Map in DF is pretty big >.>
Oh, and Kentona...that map is great. It's also big o.o
