I love RPG's. If an RPG was released in Australia, chances are I have played it. (Unfortunately that means I missed out on lots of good titles that were never released in Aus...)
I'm a web designer/developer and have enjoyed making Pirate Rush in RPGMaker VX Ace in my spare time. I like to make others happy and I'm hoping that the games I create will bring happiness and enjoyment to others.

I would try spacing out the tufts of grass. It looks very uniform and unnatural tiled how they are here. Perhaps make them more sparse and random like the trees.
Other than that, not bad RTP mapping :)

I think it's a great map. I like it! (wow 20 minutes, I should procrastinate less when mapping... haha)
I think the water could use some love, maybe. To me the rock underwater tile is the wall underwater - if it goes that deep perhaps put some shadow down the bottom? Just an idea, still looks great without it

This map probably took me around 2 and a bit hours perhaps. My maps are just manipulated RPGMaker RTP battlebacks (so I didn't paint the thing from scratch, just did lots of manipulation).
The water itself isn't animated exactly, but all water in my game reflects moving clouds which gives the feel of movement.
