OH NO, DRINK AND SD TO WASH THE PAIN AWAY :O

Well I figured out what makes the AP bug happen. You are selecting "Attack" on the enemies to initiate an attack, as opposed to selecting the weapons, right? THIS SEEMS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. Instead, select the weapon to attack or press 'A' (which is a shortcut to select weapons) and this will not occur.

Fair enough, but there should be really an option to reduce the Wield requirement on the M22.
Well, maybe. But kind of the point was to tantalize/annoy you by dropping a high-level weapon early on to give you a goal for upgrading your characters.

And your assumption was right in that Wesley's desk is in the CEO Reception room. :O After you do the "Send Memo" thing you should be able to "Investigate" the desk to receive the number. If not, then it's another bug, and I will have to start drinking too.

That's probably what kumada told you.

I will investigate the hypo crash after drinking.

Now go to sleep.

It *seems* to be time-based, you get one MRE per ID chip per XX amount of time. Or it could be based on how many AP you've spent since your MRE acquisition. I'm not sure either.

It's time-based, and each id chip has a "countdown" associated with it that establishes when a new package is available. And if one is all ready available, all the other countdowns go slower to avoid meal package pile-up. If you're finding it's too easy because there are too many, I can always make the countdown higher. :3

(Meals were meant to be the bankrupt player's escape, i.e. if you're out of nanites and out of supplies you can always waste time strutting back and forth between two rooms until you load up on meals, as opposed to simply having an unwinnable game. Which is why they're so different from other items. So yes they're like inns.)

As for this bio-writing thing, I won't make a big deal out of it with CONTEST CONTEST CONTEST because probably not that many people are interested. And almost every character in the game has an open backstory, since most are just there to give colour comments about the colony and then show up as enemies.

Characters what are in the game so far:
Main Player
Derichard (I do this one.)
Melissa Graaskamp
Henry Lee
Ross Chernovol
Meghan Cambridge
Sasha Elumir
CEO Kimberly Saga
Ryan Gunn
Renee Douglass
Grant Renlich
Anna Delgado
Dr. Zeb Vinita
Cheryl Ming
Sgt. Standaert
Hector Aglialoro
Adam Paysinger
Gail Columbine
Wesley Guthrie
Candace Pike
Else Leschova
Lane Wikkins
Issa Sreenivasan

Their job in the game is probably all you need to know if you want to write something. I will probably just edit them all anyway. :]

Info about some characters is here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/1378/stuff/

the theme of the game is
what with FTL travel on the up-and-up, outer space is now an endless frontier so no one feels like they have to be nice or honour traditions any more. There is no longer a we-sink-or-swim-together attitude, since if you don't like things on Earth you're expected to just leave. And that goes for any space colony too. (Space colonies are mainly limited to the local solar system so far, but many many crazy people have disappeared in small private vessels all ready for who knows where.) So it's like a regression to the Wild West where everyone's safety and security is privatized. There are no longer establishments that commemorate culture, like the Olympics or the Nobel prize. Old people like CEO Saga are the only ones who remember when it wasn't always that way, and the future is now unpredictable and unfriendly. A lot of the staff are elderly because while medical advances have extended people's useful life spans, the flip side is that there's basically no such thing as retirement any more unless you have a family to support you or a private deal with a company. Oh and White Horse Enterprises is based out of China but they have a very multicultural employ mainly because I'd all ready drawn lots of white people.

BUG UPDATE:

Firing a shotgun (etc.) is definitely costing two AP (two Xs) BEFORE the attack hits or the enemy dies!
OK, PERHAPS IT'S THE SHOTGUN
because i did tinker with your save file and didn't find anything weird. :X You are using the latest version right? (1.1.1.1)

I thought the whole point of the section was "when your environment is about to decompress, do not dither with item-gathering." Adding (randomly placed) special items to the section means that completionists are going to have to do multiple runthroughs of it in order to locate them all, which is torturous.
Well, that was the point originally but it did not stop some people from checking everything anyway. :\ And they felt sad that their efforts did not pay off. There probably won't be anything unique, maybe just one or two big stashes of nanites or something. As if you needed more nanites.

author=Max McGee
Out of curiosity, why is there an option to make the shotgun more accurate, but not the pistol?
Because the pistol is all ready maximum accuracy! Or rather, it has the minimum possible skill requirement. (Zero) It is in fact the only zero-level tech roll in the game!

Ok I think I know what it is, when enemies die they run a small extra "task" that is supposed to be set to not spend an action point but it might be doing it anyway. Does it happen whence enemies die? And yes there will be tasks that cost more than one action point but just shooting the gun isn't one of them.

This is a TOTALLY frivolous request but plz add implosion. Changing screen tone and then fading to black doesn't cut it for a "decompression event". Explosive decompression is fucking scary, and for such an awesomely scary and atmospheric game, Set Discrepancy is oddly bloodless. (Obviously like anyone who's not a cretin I prefer psychological fear to icky gore squick, but that doesn't mean horror should have absolutely no blood. Also explosive decompression is freaking cool. SPLEURCH!)
Actually some scientists disagree and assert that human flesh is in fact quite resilient and instead of blowing up like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall (most unnecessary remake ever???) you would just instantly freeze. And also I would have to animate this for all 12 player charsets. :( Spleurch. Besides, there's on-screen death-by-decompression later in the programme anyway. :3

However, since some people seem quite compelled to try and search all the desks in that section there will probably have to be some prizes hidden there to avoid Empty Room Psyche.

author=Max McGee
How many parts are there, by the way?
I believe there will be 11 parts.
This site had better still be here when I'm 100 because that's how long it will take. :(
BTW the section in Hydroponics is quite short so I was going to amalgamate it in a chapter with the next part, but so far there has been a chapter break each time you change modules which seems natural. So Chapter 5 might be ready in a couple weeks, although it's quite short and not much happens in it.

this game is so good. so good.

But um...I finally shelled out for a second point of Aptitude for Derichard. So he should have 2 AP right? And I see two x's and everything. But whenever I have him attack either with the wrench or the cryo-amp it seems to COST 2 AP now...so what was the point of getting a second AP?

I ASSUME this is a bug, but then again I assumed the Mental Points Affecting Tech Success Rate thing was a bug at first too, and that was actually a central feature, so I don't know.

Perhaps, send me your save game? Although I don't have Internet at home right now so all such correspondence will be slow.
