Welp, I'm by no means cruising, but here is a bit of progress from day one-and-a-half with a show of a town map using YEP Grid-Free Doodads in the back-half.

Well, and to be totally real, all the RTPs that lacked corner pieces were (and even by definition) "blocky"
The real art in RPGMaker games for me, is seeing how people break that RTP barrier in unique ways, while still using the RTP. When they can make you question (not necessarily forget) that you're looking at RTP, it feels so good, and is the indicator of a passionate RPGMaker-dev.

mv rtp just feels so blocky; detailed mapping just doesn't look quite right with it.
I agree, but this is where I feel Yanfly's Grid-Free Doodads (or parallax-mapping) is the saving grace.

...Anyone will miss the full-screen option if I ditch it for the sake of getting rid of the coding required to scale the UI for unpredictable resolutions? :3
I wouldn't blame you in the slightest, I ought to do that to mine, as my plug-ins cause severe resource issues when the window is expanded even by a single pixel (and don't ask me why...I've been trying to solve this enigma for months...)

I suppose I ought to do this thing once...
Truth be told, I'm a fan of changing things out quite often, so here it is as of writing this for posterity sake:
It's a Red-Panda (a.k.a. Ailurus Fulgens (This is scientific speak, and it means "shining cat"), Lesser Panda, Shining or Golden Panda, Bear-Cat, Cat-Bear, "small, red bear", "dark", "eater of bamboo", or Firefox (hence the username)).
Why a red-panda? Because I feel there isn't enough internet appreciation for red-pandas, though that is slowly changing. That and I'm writing a story that involves red-pandas.
This particular iteration of red-panda avatar-atry is my own pseudo-handmade/pseudo-frankensprited pixel art take.
