What do y'all think about if we had a sticky thread where people can post that there game was accepted?

I mean, I look at the front page, I just don't care because I'm here for gammak discussion and shitposting, not actually consuming games. :V
Yep, most days if I'm just popping in I check out the forums more so than the wall of games the FrontPage presents me.
That's a flaw with the frontpage, then.
That's valid too, then!

My biggest goal with this suggestion is that newcomers can been seen and heard more easily with their uploads than they are now without having to make a name on the forums for anyone to give them the time of day.
We wanna keep people interested and feeling important with their work. Having a vocal community to go to for support is very important.

Shouldn't their works determine if they are seen or heard? If people aren't visiting the game pages to give support, how else would they be doing so?

This isn't exactly about quality though, it's about games coming being given a better chance, if only by slightly and by their own means. Having the option to say easily that your game is accepted is just a bonus. The rules could even state that you can only say "My game X is accepted and ready to go!"

I know they can do this with blogs but if they get that across better in the forums.

It's not a great idea or a gamechanger to be real

I think the heart of your idea is fine. Newly accepted games are easily missed if you blink. But I think making a stickied topic is a bandaid.
There is the new game tab which sorts by date. I always check the newcomers that way

When I first glanced a glimpse of this my thought was "A sticky for people to post about when their game is pending" : D hahaha.
Seeing how often it pops up~

Actually, I first read it as "A sticky for people to post about when their game is denied."
I think it's be nice to have an expanded "latest posts" to "latest content" that also included statuses, blogs, and new games. As it is, I never notice statuses or blogs unless someone posts on them.

I think the community portal aimed to do this, but it only shows the last five posts, where normally I'm interested in the last two pages.

Yeah I think community and frontpage can both be drastically updated.

One large issue: there's a lot of KINDS of content here. Hard to organize it.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I don't know that it actually is. I don't know if the site's this way by design, but in general, for the most part, it seems like the front page is for people who play games and the community portal is for people who make them. Those are two very different demographics, and having different sections of the site dedicated to them makes sense.

If the front page isn't doing its job for people who come here to play games, that sucks. But those people don't really come to the forums to say so. Most of them probably don't even have RMN accounts. So to ask them if they think it's working well, you'd need something on the front page.

Developers don't have any clue if the front page is working - they just want their own game to have more visibility. But whether their game deserves more visibility is another matter entirely. Not everything can be featured. Most people's games are shit and don't deserve to even be accepted on RMN, much less put on the front page for more than thirty seconds. Hell, if I were in charge of the submission queue, I would have denied at least three of my own games.
As someone who plays games, I always liked the frontpage. *chuckle* I mean, I used to not really use the forums but still browse that.
There is a lot of randomness too to randomly get games. So the features on the top right are much appreciated for getting good stuff, and random stuff below.

True; there's an inherent dichotomy to the site between players and developers. I don't know if either role is fully optimized. It could be a flaw if the frontpage for a specific person isn't what they want it to be.
