I need an outside opinion
First of all, welcome to the community!
1. I would say background is important, if only so that everything in the game fits together well. Doesn't have to be real in depth, just make sure it makes sense.
2. Cool. Sort of like a pokemon only hopefully you won't make 400+.
3. I've never really done anything with RPG Maker 2K, however I doubt it would be too hard to do.
4. Either or perhaps a mixture of both. You'll find fans of both at RMN.

Wow. I feel your pain. The past two years, I've made a lot of ads for football programs. It's hard to fit a whole lot of information in small spaces especially if you only have 1/8 of an 11x8 1/2 (inches) page paper to work with.
Out of curiosity, what program are you using to edit the pictures and text with?

I hope this has an English translation someday. You said these are all pictures? If you had the original pictures saved somewhere, I could try editing them if you would like to see how difficult a full translation would be. I'm a typesetter and I have often had to work with taking things out of pictures and replacing them.

Wouldn't have been my first choice to describe it, heh.
It's a Firefly show slang. "Shiny" here just refers to something being great. I like it a lot. I particularly find the shadow and gleam of the wood table in the background nice. It is aesthetically pleasing.
