We're using the SMB3 stars because SOME PEOPLE insisted on a hub world instead of a world map.

If it still doesn't work, then I don't think there's anything that can be done. Redigit has some features of npcs hardcoded and unable to change. Like if you tried to make koopa shells non-carryable, it just wouldn't work. Sometimes SMBX is weird like that.

Oh! Deckiller! I had an idea for Forest Temple.
DarklordKeinor said that he wanted to see the candles suspended from the ceiling instead of attached to the ground, but then I thought "why have the chains even?" You should put the candles into their own layers, and have them slowly bob up and down in a ghostly manner. It would fit with the spooky theme, and make the level far more memorable from that alone.
The only problem is that it might create some lag in conjunction with the moving blocks later on. I have a bad computer, so it will surely slow me to a halt. But others may have no such problems.

In the process of revising my own levels. Most of the complaints were that they were very barren and flat-looking. But prettying up levels is my weakest point. :(
