Monster Design - Mirror Maniac
uni's approach is giving me oldschool anime D&D vibes like magic knight rayearth or something, y'kno? It's such a narratively engrossing way to do it!
i like the monster AI approach too, though -- it's a bit trickier and potentially more laborious for the player (having to waste turns on repeated encounters to see which enemy fumbles) but there's a lot of narrative and symbological potential on AI patterns too!

$120/mo is not a very steep goal, commercially (but is a steep expense for a single person)
makes me think that an annual drive with the goal to gather $1500 for RMN through sales could be something interesting and fun. Gather many different creators and whatnot. Asset packs, commercial games. Maybe an itch.io bundle with a clearcut goal!
I wish I was a bit less flaky but I'm working on that. Regardless, there's a lot of awesome creators in this community who could help in such a way. And we could always force-redirect any traffic to Pom Gets Wi-Fi to itch.io do you guys remember the twenty-tens?

This is true when it comes to rpg maker internal logic (and there are some examples on yanfly tips and tricks that check skill type through this) but game design-wise, it really depends on what KrimsonKatt wants a physical skill to be. It could be any skill that uses ATK in the formula, regardless of the skill type setting, for example. Like a certain hit ATK-based heal. (Most heals will usually be MAT/Certain Hit, actually, instead of MAT/Magic Attack) Inversely, skills that deal no damage can still be physical-type to calculate physical evasion. Do they want these skills to consume the ATK/MAT buff?
Basically, you now need a clear rule for what you want your buff to work on or not, and then translate that rule into an if condition.

I can't help you with that because the erase criteria has to be defined by you. Different games decide differently on what counts as a physical attack or action. So you need to brush up a little on JavaScript and try to translate your own criteria into an if statement!

My Survival Horror RPG Parasite Eve clone is ever closer! creating fun unique map exploration mechanics while still being able to access RPG maker mechanics too, that's great! Something like Voice of Cards is infinitely more doable with Unite than it is with MZ, at least hopefully, it would seem

Pick one of your favourite RPGs. Strip it of all fancy names and rename it all with strictly functional names. "Restore HP". "Element 1 Damage". "Damage over time status effect". Then go and rename it all with fancy names based on a given theme -- in this case, zombies. Voila, you got what Darken's saying.
Then you make up whatever lore excuses you want for the gameplay to work like that. Or you just... Don't. And most players won't even think to question.
