Can it make single-player, turn-based games?

Letting players catch up after changing builds

author=RyaReisender
- Players don't feel forced to use a guide for a build, which increases immersion as you don't have to alt-tab out of the game and read guides on every level up

It's funny you mention immersion here, since I feel that respeccing causes a huge loss of immersion. ("Thieves are useless here, so I'll make him a mage for this dungeon.")

And while I approve of removing things that are needlessly frustrating, doing so could lessen the sense of accomplishment and some players may quit out of boredom.

I mostly agree with the rest of your points, which is way I prefer games with limited respecs.

Card Based Battle System

Do you have any equipment or combat skills that aren't cards? (Aside from the Otaku's edit deck ability, which could be implemented as a pseudo-card that's always in his hand.) I'd have cards be used as equipment and check class and stat restrictions when "equipped". Then each turn draw however many cards and create the skill menu from that (skill IDs match card IDs). I don't know if RM's default skill handling will have trouble with duplicate skills.

Looking for a Programmer for a CoC-like XXX Fantasy RPG

Can you slowly get to know a character over the course of the game, developing a deep friendship that gradually evolves into a romance as you realize how much you care about each-other? That's my fetish

*like*

I have a fondness for porn games, but it would be nice to see one actually have explicit consent. One that I'm currently playing occasionally touches the subject, but it's undermined by the general theme that any woman will fall in love if you grope her enough. (But that's sort of like criticizing RPGs for always using violence to solve problems.)

President Trump

Did any polls actually claim Clinton was certain to be elected? When I voted early, Trump had a 1 in 7 chance to win, which isn't terrible odds.

Before the election I heard discussion about people lying to the pollsters (in both directions) because they didn't want their spouse to know who they really intended to vote for. And after the election I'm hearing people bragging about lying to the "liberal" polls.

Manage more than your games

On a related note... I haven't found any way to be notified of new articles or tutorials. Could something be done similar to the forum that shows the newest game-blog posts?

BUFFS AND DEBUFFS

Here's a new one from a CCG I just tried out:
Green = mana cost
Blue = attack
Red = defense (actually health)

[RMVX ACE] Assistance needed!

That's odd. When you use the Resource Manager to import an image, it should ask you to click on the background color if the image doesn't already include transparency information.

Did you just copy the files into the directory instead of importing them?

BUFFS AND DEBUFFS

I'm constantly surprised by strategy games that use red for my chars and blue or green for enemies.

Generally, these are how I associate colors:
Red & Orange = damage, HP, fire
Green = healing, sometimes poison, nature/plant
Blue = MP, buffs, water/ice
Yellow (Gold) = criticals, air/lightning

For those concerned about colorblindness, the safest colors seem to be Purple, Orange, Yellow, Cyan, and of course White and Black.

(A site I found one day when I was wondering if it was even possible to make a colorblind accessible CCG.)

or we could... not do that.

But someone has a question I can answer!

One thing I don't get is how big to make the map. Lets say if you just need 30x30 do you make the map exactly 30x30 or do you make it bigger and put like trees or water or something around the edge? Do you want the screen to feel boxed in or is this actually desirable some of the time?

The player sees 17x13 tiles at a time (the minimum map size). If you add a 6 tile border to the top and bottom and 8 tiles to the left and right, the player will always be centered on the screen. Otherwise the map will stop scrolling when the player nears the edge of the map, so it's a question of whether you want to player to have that information.

You'd think RPG maker would have like a feature where you can click and drag the edges to increase the map size in that direction.

If you right-click the map name in the map list, you'll get a menu with Map Properties where you can change the map size (changes will be made to the right and bottom edges of the map). Also in that menu is Shift which allows you to push the map around in all four directions (tiles will wrap around).
