Lyra's Melody - The Song She Whispered to Me

Oh shite, forgot to reply... :P

It's reallg good, just like I expected. The environments were nice, things were well paced for what short time there was, and it does feel kinda cinematic. Still, I'm looking forward to more of that story the most. Also, yeah, make the gameplay puzzle/minigame centered. Battles would feel extremely wierd in a game like this.

Keep up the good work, man!

Lyra's Melody - The Song She Whispered to Me

I'll definitely try it out, the plot seems very interesting, and nice. Just a cool idea.

Determine game-length?

I think I'd estimate a fair dungeon to be about 10-15 mins, story sequences to be 1-10 depending, bosses to be 6-10 depending, exploration to be 20-30, and shopwork/menu stuff to be 6-8 in every town.

Last dungeon is of course around 30-40 maybe, final boss maybe 10-18, pre final boss scenes to be 10-14, credits to be like 0 for RM, and post credit scenes to be about 6-7 maybe?

I think thats a good way to guesstimate, based on what I'm thinking atm.

Something I was doing earlier today.

Well, farewell everyone.

Well this seems sudden.

I think my approach to random battles in my project is that mainly it's the enemies walking around thing, but, in certain areas, an exclamation mark appears in the corner of the screen, meaning monsters can't be seen, and there are random encounters.

I really don't see why people haven't mixed the two yet.

The Emulation Debate

I wouldn't emulate a brand new game or anything (For some obvious reasons) when I can go and buy a brand new copy, but theres nothing wrong with emulating a SNES or NES game. I mean it's not like the companies make any kind of profit off of that any more, or for the matter care.

Plus you can't buy old school games in anywhere I've been in Newfoundland. I've seen them in New Brunswick but thats a bit too far for shopping purposes.
