Ways to improve the community/maintain its awesomeness.
Feld
The 'jaded developer/gamer/player/member' thing is kinda played out.
Agreed.
I can't really say much about this besides the fact that pretty much everybody should read it and take it into consideration. That includes myself as well. I know I frequently get involved in the drama around here but that doesn't mean I like it, and I realize that I need to actually hold my opinions up to something more concrete once in a while. I hate being a whiner, cause I'm certainly not in "Real Life". I don't know where that attitude is coming from sometimes on the forums.

A lot of other people have however, same as how other people have shared your sentiments and made huge double standards by doing so. You aren't obviously, but still.

Yeaster, may I once again bring up the point of how a while ago we supposedly didn't care enough about our community, but now that we do it's all GIVE IT A REST GUYS GEEZ NOBODY CARES
Uh? Do you guys listen to music?
I mostly listen to soundtracks, truth be told. Used to be video games, but I've drifted, perhaps sensibly so into Anime soundtracks. Right now pretty much all I listen to habitually is The Big O Soundtrack.
In terms of "real music" I listen to a lot of heavy metal, especially Metallica and Judas Priest. Although, I like to listen to The Notorious B.I.G. every now and then.

Giving your games a sense of 'identity'.
I don't really do it all to much with games that enthrall me. However, when I'm upset about something or I don't like the game I really pick it to pieces.
Can't save with Resource Hacker.
Writing to the rpg2003 folder alleviated the saving problem, although now when I replace the RPG_RT with the patched one it claims that it isn't a valid Win32 application.
EDIT: Apparently the project I was testing it out with had a bugged RPG_RT or something/ It works fine everywhere else. Thanks for your help though!

Giving your games a sense of 'identity'.
I would discuss it, but like I said, it's hard to word these things. I was going to bring up Tales Of Symphonia, Tales Of The Abyss, etc. But I can't put my finger on what made them so memorable. I want to say the characters, or just the style of the games themselves, but I'm not sure.
Being a developer for so long makes it hard to get out of the mindset of "This game is good/bad cause of how it is programmed/mapped". I wish I could get out of that. It would be nice to take a game on more of the face value kind of scale instead of a lets examine it in depth scale.
EDIT: Also, ripping things makes it hard to give a game identity. I won't bring up the graphics thing like you said, but it seems like you're forced into using the mechanics and story to really sell it at that point. Which is a good thing I suppose.
