Gamingw.net was great because for once a game making forum where they are marginalized as they should have been everywhere.
Over time, the direction of the site was changed from a predominantly RPG Maker focused one to, well, one that encouraged all game makers but discouraged RPG Maker. I never understood this. There was never any valid reason for this change of direction, because there was no demand for it on the forums. Non-RPG Maker games were a tiny minority. I always said that everything should be treated equally at GW, which is something that the site struggled with when it was a booming RPG Maker haven, and something that it continues to struggle with as a site that continuously pushes RPG Maker into a smaller and smaller area of the forums.
If they weren't such vocal part of the RPG maker community, and annoyed the fucked out of everybody, then RPG maker wouldn't have been ostracized, IMO.ark

Action battle character/sprite creation tool ?
Well, what I meant is you only need a general pixel art program for this job. There is really no need to develop one geared towards people who want to make an action RPG, as the genre has very little to do at all with the creation process of the sprites themselves.

I don't really understand this question, but you should try using graphics gale. It's one of the best sprite authoring programs and the free version is quite good.
There isn't a specific tool to create sprites for an action battle game, that would be completely stupid and pointless.
