Help with common event! [RM2k3]

I am making a common event that detects if there is a wall type tile between point A and B and then I show a picture over it so it cant be seen. I've created an algorithm to select the points I want, but I have no idea how to create an algorithm to detect the tiles between the points. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea how I would be able to do that. Could you please make a sample of what you mean or elaborate? That seems like the only way I can do what I want in rm2k3, but I just need to figure out an algorithm for it.

Thanks, but that kind of math is to complicated and I don't see how it relates to what I am talking about.

I was thinking maybe if a wall or trees were near the hero that you could make the tiles behind the object to be black. If that's not possible maybe just use a 16x16 black image and make an algorithm that will display the black images behind objects to create fog.

I need to be able to block the characters vision if there is a wall or trees nearby. I tried using terrain I'd and placing events but it only works in some parts of my game. I mostly just want to block the vision of the character from being able to see behind walls though.

Are Rogue RPGs bad RPGs?

For more information on what a rogue RPG is here is a link.

I feel like only people who grew up with rogue RPGs enjoy them. Since I am one of those people I thought I would ask what the rmn community had to say about it. Please give a reason why rogue RPGs are bad/good.

What is the perfect encounter rate?

What do you think the perfect encounter rate is? And does it matter how large the area your currently in is? I've played games where I would get an encounter every 2-3 steps making it very annoying to travel through dungeons, but I've also played games where I would walk 15 steps before running into an encounter making me under leveled at boss fights. So what are your thoughts?

[rm2k3]Where are the special symbol graphics?

I opened up my game with resource hacker, but cant seem to find where the special symbol graphics are located. For those who might not know what I mean, its the symbols you put in your message with the $ sign. I looked in every folder, but can't seem to find it.

Edit: Found them after hours of looking in the same place, but some how not seeing them.
