Metroid Prime 3
I'm a little skeptical about Metroid Prime 3. I'm hearing great things, but the original Metroid Prime never 'hit the spot' for me. (I would argue that it's the third best Metroid game, though. Super and Zero Mission are my favorites.) Haven't bothered with the sequal.
However, a lot of people with a similar opinion as me are saying that Prime 3 is glorious. I wonder if it's hyperbole from having a fancy new toy, but I do expect that Prime 3 will be the best thing available on Wii for a long while, at the very least until Christmas.

RPG Maker XP - Worth $60?
I find it worth it just to go legit. I LOVE RPG Maker, so I don't mind giving Enter brain their due for having made these programs after years of my fiddling with them.
But yeah, Rcholbert pretty much summed it up.

...More than 4 party members help!?
I've never implemented a steal command so I can't give you a run down that isn't lifted straight from a tutorial.
A good example of having a 'switch party members anywhere' system is in Romancing Walker. They had a skill in the protagonist's magic menu that worked as a switch that activated a common event that memorized the current location and teleports the player to a screen where they select their party. Basically having each currently available party member as an event that asks if you want them to join, restricting them if their party is full, and making them disappear if they are already in the party. Off to the side there was an event that would empty the party for re-selection and or teleport you back to where you were previously.
It seemed a fairly simple way to make a select party area in RM2K without mucking with custom menus.

Games CAN be too long.
That's not to say that games can't be good and have a whole lot of content, but dragging out a game for play time is NOT a good idea in my opinion. It just wastes a lot of time between the plot and achievements that drive the player to play.
Brevity is wit.
Though, if your filler content is loads of fun, who am I to object?
I'm not sure about switching characters out on the fly. I can be done fairly easily outside of battle with memorize location script and teleporting to a common map where you can reorganize your party, but I don't know how you'd manage it inside of combat.

The pursuit of truth, in the George MacDonald sense of the word. To make the most of ourselves as people (Which includes being the most we can be for others), to celebrate our humanity, and to cherish our origin.
At least, that's how I personally look at it.
Ask me a programming question and you're on your own.
