Odin Sphere

Ha-ha! I've completed the game!

I love how they handled the Armageddon chapter. Having a little control over who fights what is pretty awesome, in spite of outcomes.

I am trying now to figure out how to get those last two cut scenes in the story archive. I got all the recipes, but there are a couple paths in the Armageddon chapter I haven't unlocked yet.

I pretty much adore this game, though. Brilliant story telling, gorgeous visuals, a nice sound track and an interesting combat system. Dungeon crawling was a little monotonous, there was some painful lag in spots, and load times were kind of painful, but ultimately the game strikes me as glorious.

And I wrote a self-indulgent review on my personal blog, even.

Newbie here :)

Welcome aboard!

RMXP gets points for being legally distributed stateside, but yeah, RM2k3 is friendlier and has a few more features that take more work to implement in RMXP. RM2K3 is going to have a wider range of compatible resources to boot, since it used the same stuff as RM2K.

Most of the sites I frequented for resources are dead now, so I'm going to be patently unhelpful.

Mewd's Radio Dramas

I've been putting together silly radio dramas off and on again this year and been posting them at my website. If you've got nine minutes to kill, you might take a gander at my most recent offering.

Commander Josh: The Terror of Doctor Volcano

Out-takes

Intentionally bad, Commander Josh is inspired by bad fan fiction and that dopey stage of adolescence where we have an inflated sense of self-importance (that we sometimes never outgrow.) Josh is an exceedingly nerdy kid with a ridiculous devotion to the Internet and a poor grasp on reality.

Cast:
Sungwon "ProZD" Cho as Commander Josh, Policemen, News Reporter, Mohandas Anand
Alex "Blue Boo" Mankin as Doctor Volcano, a juror
Anne "Cherri" Salter as Christina, a juror
Dustin "Wilco Blackflame" Wilcoxx as Professor Walton
"MGAW" as judge
And myself as the narrator.

you wanna know what?

Sir Grod #456. I cannot make heads or tails of your post. Your complaint might be a little more potent if it were easier for us to understand why you are upset.

Everything that gets submitted to RPGmaker.net has to be manually approved. This helps weed out spam and rubbish and dead links. I assume you are upset because your game profile or download links have not been approved yet.

Hero's Realm [A review is up!]

I'll write one eventually. But it will probably take me a while seeing as how your game is beefy and I've got a lot on my plate already.

Non-RM Engines: What's stopping you?

I am absolutely ABYSMAL at coding. I look at tutorials at other engines, and my eyes water and blur and I get a headache and then I have to go lay down and call a therapist and whimper about how much those big, scary strings of code frightened me.

I am ALSO graphically incompetent. I can't draw to save my life. RPG Maker's stock of safe and friendly graphic resources is a much welcomed relief.

RPG Maker allows me to focus on the parts of game production I like: Writing and design. I don't NEED graphical or programming prowess to make a game in RPG Maker. They certainly HELP but they aren't necessary all the same.

Of course, part of me wonders if I should still try and learn some programming so that I'm not forever using RPG Maker as a crutch. But in the mean time, I think I'd like to actually produce a few games as opposed to letting my ideas float away because I get frustrated when I look at numbers and syntax and code.

Generica - [RMVX..?]

The concept does have its appeal, assuming the trees are robust enough to still give you a sensation of control over character development. Actually making and implementing this many trees will probably be arduous, but this system sounds compellingly unique.

Japan Time

If all else fails, they're liable to become usable 'trophy' allies.

Platformer Maker XP

...That's kind of what he was talking about, LeaderofImperfects.

Games you think should be on RMN

Seeing as how Wilfred the Hero has its own site, it is a simple matter to e-mail Maladroit.

Blog isn't half bad either.

Is the creator of Laughy's Tetris (Laughy, presumably) still kicking?
