The official English 2k3 version is out!
author=PepsiOtakuI like to think that such train of thought was appropiate in 2003-2007, but we live in an age where the average hard drive has more than 500GB of space, if not 1TB. I'm pretty sure people can stomach 17.2MB of additional data that provides a guaranteed bugless playable experience rather than risk your game to experience a game crashing missing file at some point. Like, i totally optimize rpgXP and Ace's games for them not to include the RTP but 2003? Come on.
Including the whole RTP is a bad practice! Don't do that.
author=CherryYes i did, you cut off my response to that when you quoted me
Did you take a look at the link I just posted? It describes how to stop the game from requesting the RTP.

You could argue that you can force the game to play without the rtp by editing the ini file in the game folder but then, if you used *any* resource from the rtp, like default battle animations for example, the game would report a missing file. You'd have to import the necessary files one by one, what an unnecesary and tiresome chore.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I'm playing persona 4 for the first time and i hate it already.
Get this, you get 3days in-game to go rescue someone before they get killed and you get a game over. You can enter a dungeon to level up only once everyday, so if you go in and are low on health and you don't have healing items, you have to end that day and wait for the next to go buy more healing potions and try again, if by the third day the boss kills you because you're too underleveled to take it on well TOUGH SHIT because you have no more chances to grind some more. What is this?

You still need to make the rtp installer once if you don't want the game nagging at you for not including the rtp. Making a rar installer doesn't solve the fact that you're not including the RTP with the game.

I bought the steam version of rpg2k3 since i was still using retail version from 2004 and it didn't play mp3 files. It's taking me a while to adapt since lots of terms and events changed names (for example "Move Event" is not "Set Move Route", etc).
I was wondering if the bug sated reported will affect WAV sound effects too, since i'm using custom sound effects called "Blow1", "Cursor1" and others which have same-named counterparts in the RTP. If i export the game with the RTP included, will these files get overwritten?

author=zacheatscrackersI've always thought about building my own pc. I know i shouldn't fear the concept because there's plenty of tutorials online that show you just how much you shouldn't be afraid of doing it yourself, but i still do. I have a really bad relationship with cables.
Welp, all of my computer parts bar my mouse, though that should arrive tomorrow. I'm going to start building my computer right now.
Wish me luck, everyone!

There's always cases of unpaid or undelivered work if you've been in the business for many years like most of us have. There are all kinds of clients and all kinds of artists.
The key is good communication and clear agreements on what is going to be done. I use paypal, it's what i've always used because it's so darn convenient and with such low transfer taxes that it's the preferred option for lots of people.

author=nhubiI know, i've had my fair share of fried hard drives before. I was close to breaking down when i thought this was another case.
Also, back up, back up, back up! Seriously do it, a hard drive crash can be heartbreaking.
author=pianotmI don't have another machine to put the hd in though.
Uh oh. You shouldn't have turned it on right after the accident. Do what nhubi says! If it were my computer, I'd pull the hard drive and put it in another machine because when components fry, they take all kinds of other things with them.

I tried to remove some dents on a wooden flute i was working on with my knife but i accidentally stroked too hard and hit a can of soda i had next to me with the tip of the blade. This opened a dent on the can from which pressurized soda shot out of, directly on the ventilation shaft of the processor of my desktop pc.
The pc froze, blue screened, and shut down. When i tried turning it on again, i got a plain command line that said "unable to load BIOS". I felt like someone constricted my testicles with industrial pliers.
I opened it up and tried my best to clean the affected area, left it to dry the whole day and then tried turning it on again. Luckily it worked as usual.
Just in case i'm going to go buy a ton of DVD's to make backup of all of my important stuff. I don't know for how long this pc will stay healthy.
