I own the first one, it was pretty fun. The combat is a very welcome addition in harvest moon games, but this game had a few annoyances. Some monsters would be able to poison or silence you. Reason this sucked was because you couldn't teleport out and you would eventually die. I don't think I played it long enough to try and find a surefire way of preventing that, but it certainly was frustrating. I ended up just avoiding certain monsters. It was worth the money for sure, but that might be annoying if she is just starting with a DS.

The video you posted is the first of the three that are out right now. I've read that the second and third installments to the series are much much better than the first. So you might want to skip the first Rune Factory and go to third, since Harvest Moon-esque games tend to not intertwine. Even if they did, there wasn't really a story behind Rune Factory, so there's not much to be missed.

I have an extreme hatred for mosquitos. If I ever hear one before I go to sleep, I will turn out all of the lights except for one to lure it and wait until it's dead before I do let myself sleep. Those vampiric bastards aren't sucking my blood if I can help it! Flies aren't too bad around here but once in awhile I'll get one that is extremely dedicated to keeping me awake. In that event, the fly gets ninja'd by my hand in the air.

I want a game where I play as the villain. Not like Fable-esque kind of villainy where you slaughter a town and grow horns. I mean I want an entire game that is geared to you trying to destroy the world/kidnap the princess/etc. This could be done on practically any platform and I would enjoy it. Although shooters would still feel relatively the same. I think this would work best in RPGs though, being able to face off against your rival and ultimately defeat him and keep him from collecting the random crystals of power to seal away my lord of darkness. Would be nice :)

DQM:Joker 2 actually doesn't look hella slow like it's predecessor. Not fully convinced if I want to try it or not yet.
