What's that black thing on the ground?

That is the residue of a monster that is slain. Basically, whenever you kill an enemy, that will be the remains.

Do you really want feedback in all these screenshots or you just dumped them in the development section?

Anyway. I don't see a problem with the charaset. It fits well enough with the tilesset, actually. I guess it's just not a combination people is familiar with? If anything, the only visual clash I see here is between the HUD and everything else. That faceset has soft and bright colors, while everything else looks dark and saturated. I guess that's because of the tint you gave this map...?

Talking about the HUD. What is that bar to the right for? What makes it so special that needs to be all the way over there? Why can't it be next to the other bars where I can more easily keep track of it? ...As for their colors. I understand that HUD elements need to stick out. But your game seems to favor softer shades of colors, so why do you try that instead of those eye-piercing ones?

As for the map... What is it? Is it even a mountain or a cave? Regardless, try to make the corridors less plain. Try to spice things up with more details: plants rocks, bones, whatever... And for the love of god don't make of this or any other dungeon in your game a labyrinth that players have to zig-zag their way out of. Because that's exactly what this seems to be, and I'm hating it already.

The screen is tinted for this map, and no haha. The maps aren't plain and boring, this one part just captured that into it. However, everything is detailed alot (this will probably change by the time the demo comes out). Also, the right bar is your magic, the book icon changes with the spell you use, and the yellow is the availability.

Sprite Problem With Sapphire Action System IV

Hey guys

Well basically what I have here is Sapphire Action System IV, my game has custom sprites, and they are taller than the average sprites. Here is a preview:

And for some monsters, I wanted to use some Rpg Maker XP sprites, however, my problem is that the enemy that I create does not show up, and I've noticed that it only shows up if I put in a sprite from Ace. I use the "$character" name file for all my sprites, could that be the problem?
Here is a code of what I put in the monster database:
Nature = 0
Animation = 1
Char = $Goblin
Char_index = 1
StepAnime

Nothing shows up, but if I change it to:
Nature = 0
Animation = 1
Char = Evil
Char_index = 1
StepAnime

It'll show the sprite with no problem, help?

ABS System needed for a video game!

Hello, Odin here!

I am in need of someone who can put time and effort to be part of a development team for the game that I am creating. I making a 6 piece saga by the name of Halmoore. And I am starting with Halmoore: A Hero's Story. I need an ABS system for this game, because I have been planning this out and I feel like that would make this game a bit more unique and it would appeal to a much bigger audience. I have already made a demo for this game, but it was in RPG Maker 2003, it is an old and outdated program. I am re-releasing the demo with VX Ace, and I need someone who can script with ace. Thank you for your time! Please contact me if you are interested!

I hope I didn't cause any offense. I just thought it was rather unfair for MISTER BIG T to think that it wouldn't be necessary for the deadline to be extended just because some of his material has been judged. My first piece, which I submitted 4 days ago, hasn't been reviewed or commented on by anybody.
This is how the judging works: As soon as new pending entry appears I am expecting to receive input from at least two other judges than myself. Once I have comments of two other judges I add my own and send them all to the composer.

Right now I'll wait 'till Saturday and then send at least my commentary to every pending entry. From then on I'll probably reduce the time I wait for other judges' comments to two days at max to keep things actually rolling.

I know it can potentially be pretty unpleasant for everyone to wait several days for feedback on their track and then go back into fixing it later on. I have just tried to make the judging form work with what we have, but considering things aren't working as fast as they should, I might just narrow down the process.

If anyone wants to volunteer to help with judging though, let me know.

I'd be happy to help with judging, Happy!

Well, this game is a free non commercial game. So i basically had no help from anyone when I first started out, so I took graphics from several places and made it fit to my idea haha.

Need a Composer for 6 part video game series.

Hello, Odin here.

I am the developer for Halmoore: A Hero's Story. I am in need of a composer that can do battle music, scenic music, and create orchestra-like compositions as well. I would like to have a Yoko Shimomura influence with the music, because her compositions are exciting, I find. I also wish to have a "trademark" theme for the game, such as how Kingdom Hearts has "Simple and Clean" by Utada Hikaru. The actual compositions would be used in the second game and over, because I am planning on making those go commercial.

Thank you for taking the time to read my needs for something that I believe will be big! Message me for details please!
