Your opinion on RTP
Hu hu, I see the polemic is the same as in the french community. xD
To me the RTP are not ugly. The XP and the VX graphics especially are really beautiful. But... Too much makers are using them. Therefore, the projects are loosing in originality and "personality".
By the way, I prefer seeing makers using RTP than makers ripping professional games. Most of the time the authors are even not credited, I think it's not really "moral".
As you may understand, I'm a big defender of custom graphics. xD

I know it's the english making contest but is RM Network the "official" website for this event ? There is this website too : http://www.queenscourt.org/misao/ < perhaps it's this one that is the "official" ? (it seams not having been updated for a long time).

And you are...? (THE INTRODUCTION THREAD)
Hello everyone o/
My name is Ody (sometimes, Dyo) and... I'm french (!).
I'm 21, studying history of art at the university. I'm living in the very center of France, in a small city (Lezoux) near Clermont-Ferrand, and I'm fond of RPG Maker :D (especially the 2003 one). I really like heavy metal music (Norther, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Rhapsody, Nightwish, Rammstein... all kind of metal) and I'm playing electric guitar myself. And also, my favourite activities are drawing and cooking.
It's the second english-speaking forum I'm registering on (the first one was Gaming World but it was, you know, too "big" for me... too much people, too much posts). So I decided to went here (look like a nice place :D). I hope I will write in a comprehensible english (really sorry for the mistakes T_T).
Concerning my RPG Maker projects, I'm working on a "huge" one named Vandorell, but it's paused since a few months. By the way I'm working on a little project (who has no name yet -do not flee I'm not a noob xD-) that has the particularity to be made whith one chipset and one map only (it's a sort of "challenge" for myself).
The several reasons for my presence here (huhu :p) are :
- I want to improve my english skill (^^")
- I would like to discover new RM projects
- I want to break the gap between the french and english communities.
Several RM games (Wilfred the Hero, Lightprism, The Way, etc.< I think they are famous games in the english community) are well known among french makers but there is a lot of interesting projects that would deserve to be known as well. For example I recently introduced "Memento Vivere" (sorry for the author Rye, I didn't ask her(him ?) the permission ^^°) on this site : Oniromancie (THE biggest french website and forum -it has eaten all the others- dont look away if you want to find french games, for example) and the echo was really good.
So ! I write too much. xD
I hope I will please myself here but I dont' doubt a second. ^^
