A Mapping contest!
If you ask me, parallax mapping is kinda cheating. The amount of detail you could put is amazing. But if you're judging more on layout, functionality, design, etc. then it should not matter if the map is pretty or not.
Games that use RTP graphics?
author=LockeZ
Oh, it is possible in VX? I was under the impression that VX had a maximum number of tiles and a maximum number of tilesets, which makes it difficult for any alternate or edited tileset to actually offer more versatility than the RTP. I guess I'm vaguely aware that there's some sort of script you can use to partially get around it but I never did check up on the details. (I use XP these days.)
There's two methods: scripts/programs that switch tile sets and parallax mapping. With the latter you can pull off some amazing stuff. But both require a little extra work to make your maps look pretty.
Is grinding a flaw in rpgs?
If the game play is good and grinding is properly rewarded, I don't mind it. However, if grinding a billion enemies yields a 5% chance to get something marginally awesome, then leave me out of that.

I hope there is a day where I can make one TLG blog update without it getting:
A.) Derailed
B.) Turn into a flame fest
I don't understand why my game is such a drama-magnet, but I am getting quite tired of it.
I can't wait for the drama when the game ACTUALLY comes out. =D
Emo Require: Do RPGs need a story?
RPGs don't need the grand story-telling to make a good game. RPGs that concentrate more on game play can be fun.
Obsessive much?
Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail
Thanks for the pass or fail. I was kinda surprised seeing a number by my game, but then I read your post and it made sense.
Once you finish the intro, the actual game starts. You go inside the building you could accept the first mission. In my older version I had an announcement ring in, but I opted for the first maid you see to give advice. I might put that announcement back to ease any confusion the player might have. The intro wasn't specifically made for pass or fail, the run through was coincidentally 10 minutes.
I'm happy you like the characters. Writing their dialogue and how they interact is a complete joy for me. It's one of the main reasons why I'm making this game.
I'm kinda bummed you didn't like my choice of music, but I chalk that to having different tastes. I wanted some jazzy music to lighten mood, but the title song doesn't really match my intention. I'll probably change that up. I just really liked that theme and I put it there without a second thought.
As far as game play is concerned, Maria, the one missing from the party, has the only unique skill set out of the three. So the battles were fairly boring in the beginning. I'm still tweaking her skills. I got some feedback saying her damage was low and I had anticipated a problem like that. I'm still fiddling around with battles to make them more engaging so hopefully combat won't stifle the rest of the game.

Mind doing a pass or fail for my game?

I use some default graphics in there as placeholders. Be wary of that. =X
