QUASI'S PROFILE

College student and pretty hard core anime addict ( some call me an otaku ). I've been writing scenarios for a manga/comic I'd like to make once I'm satisfied with my art, till then I'll be making short games that take place in the world that manga will take place in.
I'm mainly a scripter, but I can do little spriting and drawing but my shading isn't all that good. My weak point is my writing, I can't describe scenes as well as I imagine them.

2-Day DO SOMETHING Challenge!

This is really interesting. But I would have to start on Friday morning or late on Thrusday. I'll take a desktop screenshot every hour or 2 so people can see the progress speed. As well as my many, maaany trial and errors. If I'm still allowed to post a link when it's done I will. Not sure if I'll be able too since it will be late, but I rather have 2 whole days of "2-day" then only half a day of "2-day".

What do YOU look for in a (good) story? (In a video game)

I like plot, and big plot twists that counter my predicted outcomes. I also like complex stories that take awhile to fully understand, and when you replay it you're like "Ohhh I get it now." I mainly like a story that aren't too fantasy and ignores all logic, unless they come up with some explanation, then it is fine. I also look at character development. I don't really like when the main characters starts overpowered because that will only keep me entertained for the fight major boss. When the next one comes around it starts going downhill for me.

As for endings, I love dark/twisted endings that apparently most people hate. Example, those endings that "seem" like there would be a sequel but there won't be. Or an ending where all the characters you've just developed feelings for, and you think are the best, die or some drastic ending where you're like "NOOO!"
Lol but those are my tastes for endings, and I probably wouldn't recommend those because it would most likely get hated for.

Improved menu systems. They show extra params based off the GTBS settings ( Move, Range) + new "slot" param which is similar to ff7 materia, where weapons have certain amount of slots and you can equip skills into it.
Atm I'm trying to figure out if I can replicate the skills range in the menu. Could do with it showing a picture named after the skill, but doing it with rect would be easier.

Just the cliffs behind the shop feel a bit weird how they're "hugging" the shops. I was a little confused by what was going on there lol thought the shop pixels just had the grass bg instead of transparency.

(Placement window still needs to get modified/moved)
Changing up the battle hud. Feel like it's still missing something. Maybe if I changed the back bars from the hp/mp to actual gradients bars.

Looks like so far so good. Slimes aren't centered on the tiles, and you should have a comma in that dialogue, but I assume you have bigger issues to worry about at this point like getting the systems working.

Yeah, pretty have no story content made yet, just tests for the systems. Most of the systems are nearly complete already though. It's pretty much a tbs engine or starter kit atm.

This looks great so far! I'm also curious about what engine you're working with :D

I'm using rpg maker vx ace with gtbs. I modified few of the scripts to my liking, like the menus. Also got rid of the screen map rotation since it was giving issues with offset on events. Might re imply or leave it without that feature and give a ffta2 feel.

Part of me really wants to make the rest of the Oneirophrenia maps like this, alas there aren't many tiles that have a total side-view perspective. Admittedly, they might not be too difficult to make.

This looks good, except the whitish outline on the wall makes it hard to blend with the background.

Some screens of a trpg I've been working on for the past few weeks.

Msg System:

Battle:

(Ignore the name "female-portrait-2" was too lazy to rename the picture so I renamed the chara instead lol)
Battle system is GTBS was some edits to the windows + a custom window (Placement window)

Portrait is gonna be remade so it wasn't colored ( Heads angle/perspective doesn't match the body). Chara sprites just started but I only have 1 character concept made so I just did the templates for now.
*Side Note, anyone a link to a good pixel shading tutorial?
