As for The End in Snake Eater: Normal way? I used a sniper rifle and found a perch. How did you fight him?

Well, I snuck up on him and held him up to get his camo, and tranq'd him. I was going for a no-kill run, though. That or the sniper rifle method would be the normal way I suppose, but you could do it two other ways. You could literally wait(real life time, not game time) a week or so and the next time you start the game he'll die of old age.

You could also go out of your way to get an SVD early and snipe him immediately after the cutscene where they wheel him out in his wheelchair.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Finished a working version of most of the new introduction. Now I'm just going through all the revising and typesetting. Gotta make it look presentable, though it's already looking much better than the old one.

Set it to some new music and bam, I've got a much smoother introduction. Still in progress but making some progress now.

Stargate: Atlantis after season 5.

I could have sworn Atlantis only had 5 seasons anyways, as it was cancelled shortly after. I enjoyed the whole series anyways.

Speaking of Metal Gear Solid, it would have been better without Metal Gear Solid 2. It wasn't terrible, it was just..eh. Arm possession and all that other stuff(which was later hand-waved as "Oh, I was faking it."). And don't even get me started on the end fights. Trivializing the signature Metal Gear by having you fight an army of them was stupid. Ending the game with a sword dual, while cool, just sort of made the entire story make less sense.

Hearing about how the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock was hilarious, though.

Snake Eater stood out for me because it actually forced you to pay attention instead of relying on that handy radar you had in the previous games. That along with certain boss fights like The End(assuming you actually fought him the normal way) gave the game a much more realistic feel to it.

The Mana series of games would have been better off without Dawn of Mana.

It used the Havok engine in perhaps the clumsiest way possible. You lost all your levels/stats at the end of each chapter and had to kill enemies in "Panic Mode" to regain them(triggered by cleverly using the Havok engine's physics to throw objects at them). Oh, and one of the chapters ends with a big unexplained time skip. You fight a major boss and "win"(except you lose) and then get a big screen that says "HERP DERP 2 YEARS LATER" or something.

Not sure what to buy...

I've got a Wii U Deluxe, and have $10 credit leftover from some early purchases(Deluxe edition gives you back 10% of each digital/code purchase as store credit). So of course, I figured I'd put this to use and buy an old classic from the E-shop - They just put out a nice selection of GBA games. The problem is, I'm not sure which one I want. I've narrowed it down to:

1) Golden Sun
2) Metroid Fusion
3) Advance Wars
4) Wario Land 4

I've already played all three of those in the past, though my original cartridges are long gone. Loved all of them for various reasons, and now I can't decide which one to pick up. Buying all three isn't an option, as I'm only buying one because of that nice $10 credit.

Anyone feel like tossing in their opinions? Of course, I'm open to other options.

Team Fortress 2! (Free to Play)

I still play on occasion. I always play Medic. I'm known to not heal people who spam MEEEEDIIIIIC for no reason, though(including all the Heavies that insist I latch on to them at all times).

I'm not on too much lately, due to game creation and/or Elder Scrolls Online, but feel free to message me and/or add me and I might be tempted to hop on.

Remake the Original Final Fantasy...

author=RyaReisender
But as I say in every single thread where a person wants to remake an FF game: If you have the potential to recreate FF, why not just make a new game that is just as good?

I completely agree with this. My current project started as a remake of The Final Fantasy Legend(which, granted, is actually a SaGa game and was only marketed as FF in the US to profit from the then very popular brand name). It took a year or so development hell to realize that remaking it was a terrible idea, and I've slowly been phasing in original elements and trying to build something that would be fun to play while still being a bit nostalgic for those familiar with the game.

If you're dead set on it, I think you should start by designing a system that looks and feels like FF1 and build your game upon that. Start with the original story and build upon it. Don't just copy it word for word(a mistake I originally made) - Use it for inspiration. Treat the project as a learning experience and don't be afraid of breaking the game to learn something new. Hell, at least half my ideas came as a result of a failed idea.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Redoing my entire intro scene. It's been the same for 4+ years now and doesn't really fit anymore. So I'm cutting the entire thing out(it was only two fading text screens leading to a title screen, really) and replacing it with a much more in-depth intro.

I'm also redoing my equipment system yet again. On top of the normal equipment system, characters can equip an Edge, which determines the material of their weapon and provides a slight boost to damage. This acts as more of a permanent upgrade. Getting a better edge will improve your damage, but not to the extent that buying a new weapon would.

I was considering having players buy and equip armor as a set, instead of separate pieces. Instead of buying and equipping "Plate Mail", "Plate Helm" and "Plate Shield", for example, they'd just buy and equip a single item called "Plate Armour Set". Not sure if I want to do that yet, though, but it's on my mind. I'm trying to simplify certain elements that aren't all that fun while expanding the more entertaining parts of the game.

[Rm2k3] undesirable B&W charset in Shop window

To quote the site, it's a "Free and open source role playing game interpreter and editor compatible with RPG Maker 2000 and 2003" that aims to allow importing RM2K/3 projects at some point while functioning much like 2K3, but legally free. I don't really have any experience with it, so I couldn't tell you how well it works.

As for your problem, you might be able to fix it via Cherry's DynRPG, which allows one to write plugins in C++ and use them in RM2K3. In theory it could solve your problem, but I'm not quite sure if that's in the realm of what DynRPG plugins can mess with.
