[Poll] Is Piracy Ethical?
It's certainly unethical - You're taking something without paying for it.
That being said, agencies such as the RIAA(and many copyright holders themselves) are pretty much monopolizing the broken copyright laws. Take a look at this relatively recent article. A man was fined $22,500 per song for 30 songs. Granted, he did share them, but according to the RIAA the minimum fine for a single pirated song is $750, or about 750%(on average) of the song's original value. Those damages are payed to the copyright holder. In the aforementioned case, the copyright holder just made back over 400'000%of the pirated material's value. That's being generous and accounting for potential losses that came from sharing the files.
So, I suppose what I'm saying is piracy is unethical, but the laws designed to deter copyright infringements are equally unethical and only work to serve the copyright holders. While you probably shouldn't have pirated in the first place, the current legal process is effectively disproportionate retribution.

Just finished Ninja Gaiden 3 RE on the Wii U. It was better than classic 3, but the story still sucked and it still had some huge issues. Hero Mode(essentially Easy Mode) made the enemies brain dead and made it impossible for you to die. You just start auto-guarding everything except for environmental hazards.
Normal mode, on the other hand, was absurdly difficulty. Could only do 2-3 hit combos before normal enemies started guarding, countering and/or auto-facing/correcting mid attack. There was really no in-between difficulty, and the game was only "hard" because of the cheap AI.
Still not bad as an action game, but it's a shadow of what the NG games were.

Tower of the Spirit World
It originally was - Enemies dropped stupidly low amounts of money while items and inns were expensive, which led to it being easy to run out of money and have no way to heal. It was sort of a forced grind filled with fake difficultyand I don't think anyone would've enjoyed that.
March 2014, Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Make the Game
Ah, that's right. Been a while and could've swore it was the other way around. Well, that's still an option to look into.

Still playing Ninja Gaiden 3 RE. Starting to love to hate the game. Been playing for a while and while it's still got hints of fake difficulty everywhere, I haven't ran into any controller-breaking moments, and in fact enjoyed a certain boss fight against a helicopter. Still far behind NG Black, though.
Ah, good times with Oblivion. Ought to play that again and recreate my archer. I could take out damn near anything without being seen, and it just wasn't the same in Skyrim. I do believe I liked melee dagger assassination in Skyrim better, though.

Back at home I have a pretty baller Oblivion file on the go. My character is getting close to capping every stat and can kill almost anything in two hits. All hail the BlakKnight, Zazzafrazz.

Playing some Ninja Gaiden 3 RE. As a Ninja Gaiden game I'm hugely disappointed in the repetitive and uninspired boss fights and the seemingly artificial difficulty at many points. Swarming the player with (normal human) enemies that are faster and stronger than Ryu Hayabusa(supposedly a badass ninja) isn't a valid way to increase the difficulty. It only makes things tedious, not challenging. Not a bad game, but it's got nothing on the previous games.
Aside from that I picked up Super Mario 3D World and Super Luigi U, both of which are fantastic.

Adding TO MANY cool scripts to you XP / VX / ACE game
I've found it's generally a good idea to pick one "gimmick" and work the rest of your scripts and game around that. The little things are fine - A minimap here, a caterpillar script there - but when you start adding too many fancy scripts, it gets needlessly complex. Pick one "big" script (like, for example, a skill combining script) and run with that. Make thousands of unique combinations if you want. Refine that single script and make it a primary feature in your game and you won't need tons of other scripts to make the game good.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
Implemented a permadeath system, of sorts. If the entire party is wiped out, you lose all of your characters except the first one(your main character), along with any(non-essential) equipment they have. You'll then have to create three new party members that start at Lv.1 with no equipment upgrades.
Party wipes should be pretty uncommon though. Plenty of ways to survive or escape a battle if things go wrong. Still testing this system - Originally, I was going to make all deaths permanent, but realized that would be pretty harsh. Until I get everything perfectly balanced, at least.

Look at this one and say that again:

Though it does make me wish I'd done my current project in RM2K instead of 2003. I much prefered 2K's battle system to 2003. Choosing all of your attacks at once and going through the text-based explanation of what happens is, IMO, much better(and better from a tactical point of view) than the ATB system.
