The graphics you are using, however, look really nice, and it's easy to distinguish the characters with it, but yeah, fix those cliffs.

French that looks awesome. I haven't really played a 2k3 ARPG, though, so I don't know how it will play, but that looks amazing.

Yeah, the XP trees really don't fit. The VX palette uses highly saturated colors, while XP's is a little less saturated. Just correcting the saturation of the colors, I think, would help it blend with the vx tiles a little better.
