Omg, I'm crazy D:
Wow @ the last 2 sketches; quite amazing. Something in particular that I love about them is that they actually do have lips, yet still drew in such a way that it doesn't cross into the realism realm awkwardly.

While the perspectives seem off in many places, I really love the individual building graphc styles. c':
Quintessence - The Blighted Venom
The new release is out, this time with a remade intro and chapter 1 that has been vastly improved and game-play-rized. 2 mini-games/puzzles have also been added to chapter 2. Chapter 9 is also out.

Original Soundtrack:
A widely recognized original soundtrack composed by your's truly (Kan Gao) and James Q. Zhang.

Story:
General consensus from players state that the story is the most defining aspect of Quintessence, as well as its presentation. The directing and story-telling style is influenced by Elfen Lied, for those who are familiar with it. While I have never been keen on posting a summary of the plot or characters (and I do understand that this bothers some people), I will say that the genre is fantasy, drama, arguably romance, and all that generic category stuff; which doesn't say much.
Overall, this is indeed a story-focused project above all else. With the help of carefully choreographed and attempted pseudo-cinematic cut-scenes as well as over 400 face-pictures and a metaphorically constructed custom soundtrack composed by the designer himself with involvement in the actual plot itself, story and characters are valued above all.
Beginning to sound like a B.S. sales pitch already? Then I've done my job. c:
Game-play:
In the past, game-play has not been a focus in the project. However, with this new release, the intro and chapter 1 has been thoroughly revamped and much improved - including the inclusion of much game-play. From puzzles to its custom battle system, game-play is an aspect that has certainly began to sink with this new revamp.

Thanks. And eh, my name has always been Reives. The avatar's made from one of the panoramas I drew a while back; I doubt someone else uses it. Haven't been around too much though, so I probably just got mixed up. :)
Music Questions For The Experts
author=brandonabley link=topic=1777.msg28364#msg28364 date=1219779029Yeah, I agree that it's not worth the money. It's kinda handy at times though - mainly for the word builder. The soloists' range are way too limited imo. Aside from the word builder (and the library that accompanies it), it's pretty much the same Aaahs and Ooohs as Colossus.
Symphonic Choirs is fucking garbage and is the biggest waste of money of my life. Don't buy it unless you are a masochist and have money to throw away.
I also recommend Ethno World 3 (or is there a newer version now?), also from EWQL I believe. It has a lot of exotic instruments in there that can really add some unique characteristic and texture to your songs. Egyptian fiddle, Er Hu, native flute phrases, tons of strange percussions and the like.

Sure, thanks. c:

:-X @ last pic.
Not only the crawling faceless toddlers, the design of the actual tower's box rooms look somewhat creepy to me. The windows are usually on the top half of the rooms from exterior view, but this one's reversed.

Messing with music
That's actually pretty catchy and fun to listen to. Love the entrance at 0:15; the additional parts almost feel a bit like they're in a different key, but still fits well.
You should make future uploads into MP3 though, as .WAV is just humongous. Here's a great free program for audio editing and can be used for converting:
