2008 Beijing Olympic Games
Nice, that's a relief.
About the Winter Olympics; did Canada exceptionally well during the last one? I'm Canadian yet I don't remember watching the Winter Olympics that actively. :/

And of course you didn't feel it was appropriate; you made an ass out of yourself for arguing something you didn't know.
ReivesOf course that plays a large part in why it was inappropriate, please read the fist and second paragraphs in the said post.
That's exactly what happened and everybody knows it
Not erase the fact they ever did itExcuse me, but I don't think that's the case; and I think this belief is why you are upset.
Not only did I leave a note and apology explaining the withdraw on the posts that were taken out (not to mention literally saying that "shit came out of my mouth"), never once did I even ask you or anyone to remove the quotes of the original post. Having it "on record" is one thing, but having something mistakenly misleading coming out of the author's "own mouth", even if it was due to a wrongful understanding of the context, is a misrepresentation of what the author stands for. Upon finding out the context was mistakenly wrong, I believe it is only right for me to fix my mistake after publicly noting and apologizing for its occurrence on the said place.
To me, this is a collection of thoughts and opinions and what people stand for. Having an opinion is one thing, but if the basis was incorrect with a result that is simply wrong, the mistake should be fixed as any person would certainly not want to be presented as something they are not.
We may have our differences in our beliefs of how we look at a forum, but I hope we can be tolerant of each other's own beliefs on the matter as long as the situation is acknowledged and apologized for. I understand why you are upset, but hopefully this post has cleared some things up.

author=WIP link=topic=389.msg27321#msg27321 date=1218815044Oh of course - what else? That's exactly what happened and everybody knows it; minus the "so people don't know" part as I publicly announce that "excrements were spewed on my behalf" and along with the apologies, so I don't really think there's a need to be bitter about that in particular.
Just saying that usually people edit out their posts to erase their past idiocy
However, I believe he difference between this and the case of "covering up" some opinions, is that the contexts that I thought I based it on ended up being completely wrong (as you yourself warned in your post a while back), and hence the message posted was not applicable in an obscene way from the original intention, with a result that was uncalled for.
I just personally felt that it was not appropriate to leave it on there. So I announced (in advance) that I would be deleting it in a few hours from then; and when the time was due, I took it out and clarified in the edit that the content is edited out due to such reasons. My apologies if that alone offends you, but it was the opposite of intentions. Aye?
Truth or Happiness?
If the ignorance that is bliss has no risk of breaking at some point in the future, I'd take it hands down.

Thanks, glad ya enjoyed it!
Just a reminder to those who do happen to end up using it: It's probably best to convert it to OGG before using. I forgot to do that.

Eh? I suppose I just never looked at a thread exactly like that.
The way I saw it was that I found out I was wrong, posted an apology on the thread and announced that I will be retracting my false statements in a few hours, and I did when the time came - and acknowledged in each post that I did and why.
It's obvious why I did it: because I do not want something that I find ridiculous given the context that I was not aware of at the time (despite it being due my own fault) to remain.
I never really anticipated anything against retracting those false statements when it is noted, to be honest. But if you really want, I can try to write it up to fill them in again, unless someone has it stored somewhere. (Preferably the latter if any, since I am mentally exhausted about this topic.)

"View recent posts" lacking borders.
I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but I'll throw it out here just in case:
When you go into the page with "View the most recent posts on the forum.", there are no borders/separation (aside from the "reply" links) around each individual post. No biggy, but it did make me go "huh?" for a moment the first time I went there.
