Hi Remi, I'm pretty sure Irog means "Goddess of Garbage and Chaos" maybe because you referred to yourself as that in your thread title. :P (EDIT: Or maybe "Goddess of Chaos and Garbage" or "Crazy Garbage Goddess.")
Oh how embarrassing. I never though of a shorthand!
author=Irog
Yes, indeed, GCG = Goddess of Chaos and Garbage

The title you choose to introduce yourself is funny and sounds a lot like the compiler I use: GCC.
Oho i see! Well, truly I feel at least a little bit silly now! Thank you all the same for a warm and wonderful welcome! You are quite the sport!

author=kiyasu
Anyway, welcome. :D I am actually basically not active here except pretty much during Christmas, so maybe don't expect anything from me. But I happened to be updating a page and saw a notification that you posted in the other art thread I posted in years ago... so I was surprised and ended up checking the forums here. Wanted to send a welcome since I recognize you. Hope you have a good stay :)
Ah yes, i remember you. We had a rather recent interaction relative to how long ago i took my leave from here! No need to feel bad about being inactive here, it appears this forum has largely undergone the rpgmakercentral shtick of being fairly quiet!

Greetings from a Goddess of Chaos and Garbage

So apologies if I seemed rudely inattentive, I posted this thread last thing and when i went to reply, discovered I'd reached my post limit for the day, ha ha!

author=Craze
if you were half the writer you thought you were it wouldn't be so obvious who you were, max
The funny part is, this still would have applied just as faithfully if you'd said Biz / my old alias in place of that one!

author=Craze
go to hell lol
Can't, I got banned.

author=Darken
welp, it would be really funny if it wasn't max lmao

welcome, uh totally unrelated question, would you put coheed and cambria music in your game?
It was pretty funny!

As for the question... I dunno what that music even is. :0

author=Roden
It's BizarreMonkey, not max

Not entirely sure which would be better tbh
Good to see you too! ...Whoever you were! Congrats on being the person to actually nail my identity, I was worried for a moment everyone was gonna put me down as this funny max fellow, that sure woulda been weird!

author=Lascivaware
Hi Remilia!

I like you. Welcome back.
Thank you, I can't say I remember who you are, but I do appreciate the warm welcome! I've been gone so long I only remember a few people.

So! The good news is that nowadays even if I still had the same self-control issues I did in my hayday, I seem to be only able to make 10 or so posts before the forum just won't let me make more!

Helps the place is also a lot more quiet than it was during my original stay here, which might have been even further back than I thought! I really am impressed so many people remember me. :0

Wow yeah, just checked the last thread my old account posted in, it was 2015.

It's been almost 9-10 years, a bit longer than the seven year sabbatical I hinged my OP on. Little wonder people might have thought I was a slightly newer trouble maker. Haha, my bad there!

author=Irog
Welcome GCG !

Enjoy your chill comeback :-)
Thanks but uh... what is a CGC?

Greetings from a Goddess of Chaos and Garbage

I'm just returning after a well-earned seven year sabbatical~ Of course, none of you will recognize this name, and you don't have to~! I've been rebranded since 2020 and don't have any intent to bring up the long dead past when it is so much more quality to focus on the future are party in the present!

You'll not have much trouble working it out if you decide to dig, but that I'll leave up to you!

I'm just here to chill and vibe, seems the place has changed not much at all, only it's a wee bit quieter since I was last here. That's fine by me~

So with the introductionary spiel done, thank you for having me, and it is good to be back~

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

ai garbage
Gottem~!

As for me, I knew i wouldn't get the final build of Demo 3 up for this coming 11 year anniversary of my game dev collective, but i didn't wanna let people go without something. So i decided to put out a new Demo for Junked as it was fairly well liked and its lax as heck to work on considering it's just an RPG and not one of the crazy bullet hells I make typically.

So I started working on it thinking i'd just get the second stage done for the anniversary, but now I'm almost done with that and still have over two week, so i might be able to get Stage 3 or even stage 4 done, as well! That's 4/6ths of the game if so! All I've got left for Stage 2 is the boss fight and the scene which accompanies it.

So most of my head has been thinking about how to balance this game. Originally the system is that you would get drops from mobs which you would use to level up your stats, a fun little experiment!

A fun little experiment that has NO UPPER LIMIT and utterly TRIVIALIZES the game with enough grinding. The game is funnest when you're under-built than the opposite. So I might need to force some restrictions or come up with a different method for building character strength.

Got my big THONK on!

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Tried my hand at a pixel art portrait. My next game is going to be intense with the portraits, but I wanted a consistent art style with the low res tilesets. I can touch up some shading and anatomy errors as they're pointed out, but if the overall piece looks good, I can stick with pixel art for the portraits instead of digital art like I did before.
This is genuinely cool, though I might just be a sucker for portraits like this in general.

Working on finishing something I started 10~ years ago as my first step to overcoming the fear of making. The most important result is completion, but I'm not gonna skimp on the effort, either! Doing something and trashing it for a better idea is iteration! It's still progress! I'll make sure to do SOMETHING every day this year, even if it's only opening up the project, looking around the current work, then closing the project. Only something leads to something, nothing goes nowhere!
I believe in you! You can do it, mang! Believe in the Remi who believes in you!

Uh... what am I working on?

Well, for my main game, mostly I'm sick of the rpgmaker default menus, so I'm just gonna be making my own with pictures and events, this is an ambitious project though!
(Mostly because there are so many assets I'll have to make!)

I've done some nifty looking mockups to give an idea of what this might look like, though!

This is only a small glimpse. I'd have spoiled some images but i don't think this forum has support for spoilers, so... meep!

What can be done to make RMMZ have overwhelming positive reviews?

While we're reviving the dead, if they really wanna go through with mouse support, they could at least add the 'if key pressed' conditions to accommodate for mouse buttons, and mouse wheel scrolls. You can do this already with some fiddly plugins or coding, but the fact it isn't baseline is a tad annoying. This problem persist in MV as well.

Random Art Topic

Trying out a new style, really pleased with how this turned out!

In case you were curious, my more typical productions look like this.

Ah, 'tis good to be back here after so long a hiatus~

The shadowtool is something I generally only use to magnify pits or blot out areas to give stage depth. I'm sure it can be used well, but the answer for decent looking shadows usually ends up being just parallax them in yourself.

As for me, I have been working again on this funny Junkyard post apocalyptic game starring a couple numbers from Kids Next Door, KVN from Final Space, a ginger, a rock candy haired taoist and Old man McGucket from gravity falls.

Combat is getting nice and fluid! Challenging, too!

A.I. Generation and RMN

I genuinely appreciate this site's stance on AI generated assets. As an artist myself who also pays employees to make the dream games I've always wanted, I would never support the scraping A.I. generative programs do. This forum and its administration continues to be top quality.

author=Prinnyhero
Suicide booths? Really? Lol. A comment I did not think I'd see here in progressive RMN, that's for sure.

I don't have too much else to say on this topic as I don't use the Ai.. but the discourse is pretty ironic considering the demographics.
Ahahahaha nah this is one of the most wild rpgmaker websites, which is why I like it. Yet despite its more lax house rules, it still manages to have a better moral stance than the website that supposedly thinks it represents the community.
author=Zachary_Braun
Show it on rpgmakerweb (which accepts AI-generated complements). That site is more active, anyway.
Case in point.
