ROWAN'S PROFILE
Rowan
131
I'm just a guy interested in making an RPG. I started using RPG Maker way back in RM2k days. My first game was wiped out when my old CPU crashed so yeah.. I decided to make a new one and have been working on it ever since. I mostly enjoy lurking around the RMN forums but I've decided to become more active in the community. I can be a smart-ass at times, but I'm generally an easy going friendly dude.
P.S: Oh yeah, I'm gay (seriously)

Giving kentona hs break (Interview Thread)
I guess I'll do one to.
1. Describe your RMN history and experiences.
LIFE STORY ALERT:
Way back on early middle school, I remember reading about RPG Maker for the PSone in game informer. Even though I never bought the game, I was greatly inspired to create my own RPG. One of my friends told my about a program called RPG Maker 2000 for the PC for free. At first I didn't believe him, but after searching through the interwebs, I finally came across the program and quickly began making my first amateurish project to get use to the program.
I eventually joined Charas-Project forums and lurked around their forums for a while as a worked on my first true game called "Eternel Eve." (Yes, with an E cause I couldn't spell.) I got some good remarks about it from the members there unfortunately though, my computer crashed and I had to reformat my hard disk. =( The loss of my game was too much for me and I decided to quit RPG Maker for a long while. It wasn't until 2006 or so that I began to slowly regain interests in another project. I called it "Osheru Shori," and at first it was going to be a tactics game similar to FFT. Regrettably, the loss of my first project still lingered within me and I couldn't fully adjust myself back to the ways of RPG Making. It wasn't until mid 2008 when I put the past behind me and decided to fully commit myself to the game. I redone absolutely everything and decided to increase my drawing, spriting, and writing skills.
After I long while absent, I came back to Charas Forums only to find it wasn't as active as it was before. Sometime later, I heard about this site, checked out the forums for a bit and decided to register. I was nervous to post anything about me or my game for a long while, but eventually got over it and decided posting. Here I am now.
2. Talk about yourself
I'm a 21 year old, easy going yet quiet fella that likes to play games. On occasion, I do make people laugh but I'm generally not that good at creating humor. I'm a sucker for procrastination and love my alone time.
I'm a sophomore in college and major in Information Technology.
3. Talk about your RPG Maker work ethics.
I've increased my Drawing Skills, Spriting Skills, writing skills, for the sake of expanded my creativity. Usually I have a strong desire to work on my game for a couple of months before I stop and take a small break to recollect myself. My first goal before anything else was to establish an interesting yet simple layout for my story. Afterwards, I began perfecting my Character Designs, CMS,CBS, and other such systems before I began on the actually mapping. I am perfectionist and constantly test my game to make sure things are just right.
4. Describe where you get your ideas from.
My ideas usually spring forth from just about everywhere really. If something interests me, I usually break it apart and try to conceive of ways to make it more interesting.
5. Talk about your games and why they are/were worth making.
My game has become a life hobby of mine that I would like to complete someday. My game is highly inspired from the Grandia series and is worth making not only because it's fun, but it helps expands my creativity and imagination. Developing this game made me realize the fundamentals on what makes a good game fun and the time and care it takes to produce one.
6. Little Known Facts about yourself
- If you didn't already know, I am an in-closet gay african-american.
- I was in the U.S. Navy for a short period of time.
- I really like Japanese Manga. I don't care for anime as much though.
- I am highly competitive in fighting games and was the best SSBB Peach player in the midwest (according to tournaments wins) for about a year. Other fighting games that interest me are: Tekken 6 and BlazBlue Continuum Shift. I also try to be competitive in pokemon games just for the heck of it, but find it way too based on luck. (60% Hypnosis, Abundance of critical hits, etc...)
- I'm a skinny lil' basterd weighing in around 130lbs.
- I spend way too much time on the computer.
- My favorite drink is Orange Soda, and my favorite food is a pepperoni with extra cheese pizza.
7. Future game making prospects (what projects will you be working on next?
- I will be working on one and only one project: Osheru Shori. If I ever do end up finishing it, I'll probably end up spriting more or try to learn ruby for RMVXP for the heck of it. I will NOT be making another game.

Would ya really want this to happen the same to ya ark?Anyway, also if your here only for being a stupei, ace defective idiot who spanks its americanisms words then i say to begone from this site at once! After all, this site is meant to make friends and show of your gaming talents as well as the others players (not only you),not to spread your poisonous tongue trought this site and just to get that easily away. Also what upsets me is that if someone like you doesnt like its members of this site then why are ya even bothering to respond?Or even trying their so hard worked games so that a useless would play em.I think that every member of this site is a respected person which must respect the others as long as everyone is not being an insect like you.
P.S Thats likely all i have to say but remember this orange, even if wip or enyone else here is fat or who knows what that doesnt mean they must be treated like dirt.Cause guys like you must be treated like that. Also stop fooling around disguised as a girl.Since by your accent you are a man likely V_V

A Dust Tale
Rpg Maker game tear-jerkers.
When I was younger, I was one of those fellows who cried:
-During the Aeris/Aerith scene.
-During the ending scene of FF8 where Laguna had a flashback of his wife. (forgot her name)
-During the end of Final Fantasy X.
-During the "1000 Words" scene Final Fantasy X-2
I was one of those fellows who "paused and reflect" during:
-Sue's departure in the original Grandia
-Miguel's Boss Battle in Chrono Cross
-During Zidane's "You're not alone" scene in Terra.
-Many different moments during Final Fantasy X including the Remnents of the Sin Assault, Climbing Mt. Gagazet, Zanarkand Ruins etc..
-Mareg's death in Grandia 2
As for RPG Maker games, Nope sorry =(.

Emotional Movies
Potential Movie Spoilers on this thread be warned.
Basically a follow up to Corf's Rpg Maker game tear-jerkers thread but with movies instead.
Whether it be from your childhood to now, I'm sure everyone has experienced at least one emotional, touching, and/or sad movie that nearly brought them to tears. Were you one of those kids who cried during Mufasa's death, or the typical tough as nails guy/gal who cried during the end of Titanic but don't want to admit it?
I have a history of being emotionally sensitive during a engaging movie. I use to burst into tears while watching one of my favorite childhood movies, "The Pagemaster", especially during the song "Whenever you Imagine." Nostalgia is a powerful indeed as to this day, I still cannot help but to smile whenever I hear this song.

Pokemon is so Popular That it Gets a Ton of Leaks about Everything.
To be quite honest, the critical health theme song is equally as annoying. It's a 11 second loop. I dare someone to listen to that entire video on repeat.

The touch screen is better with the lite, Rowan. Just more flimsy.
Nice review, however I'm going by my own personal experience.
