ROWAN'S PROFILE
Rowan

I'm just a guy interested in making an RPG. I started using RPG Maker way back in RM2k days. My first game was wiped out when my old CPU crashed so yeah.. I decided to make a new one and have been working on it ever since. I mostly enjoy lurking around the RMN forums but I've decided to become more active in the community. I can be a smart-ass at times, but I'm generally an easy going friendly dude.
P.S: Oh yeah, I'm gay (seriously)

Game Pet Peeves
I'm one of those players who uses everyone and make sure they're close to the same level as everyone else.
Outside of specific situations and events, It REALLY bugs me when you can't remove the hero from the party.

Carpe Diem: Episode One
Yo, I'm back.
Rpg Battle Systems
My favorite's:
1. Grandia 3's ATB System. It had the best system out of the 4 games in this system. Canceling moves are actually important now.
2. World of Warcraft's Systems: Very intricate battle system. I love there design philosophy of Tanks, Healers, and DPS.
3. Baten Kaitos Origins Fast Card System. "RELAY COMBO!" "EXCELLENT" This system would've been even better If this game combined the deck construction elements and some other things from the previous system.
4. Tales of Hearts (*Whatever you call it) System: A very spammy but nontheless fun battle system. The best in the tales series so far in my opinion.

DOING IT! ~ WEEK TWO
I'm also not good at creating music which leaves me simply looking for songs that sound good. I've ended up compiling music from really obscure commercial soundtracks. Since I'm aiming towards a feel of non-chiptune 80/90's music, most of the songs I've found are from Team Sampling Masters, and Team Supersweep.
My favorite of theirs I've found is from a really obscure fighting game called "Fighting Layer." It's an arcade game released only in japan that wasn't really popular, but had a GREAT soundtrack. Half of the soundtrack was done by Ayako Saso, while the other half was done by Takayuki Aihara, both members of Sampling Masters who also worked on the music for the Street Fighter EX series. Here's a couple of their works which I've decided to use.

I've also been messing around with volume settings, and other music choice options. If you don't like the game's music you can always mute it or play another song.

Hi there
What are you working on now?
Everything in my menu system is demo ready now.
I've now begun tweaking my battle system and testing rm2k3's power mode patch.

post=138951post=138946Yeah. I visit GameFaqs boards for every game I own (a lot),
MOG, do you ever frequent anywhere that isn't an RM forum?
I knew I seen you somewhere before.
Anyways, I also have percentage based healing in my game and is functions similar to WoW's healing spells. Big healing spells/items takes awhile to cast/prepare but heals alot while the smaller healing ones are usually faster, but takes more of your resources to do.
My biggest pet peeve are uninteresting and annoying characters. Jupis (Rogue Galaxy) and the Loli (Star Ocean 4) are fairly good examples from commercial games.
