SAILERIUS'S PROFILE
Something happened to me last night when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go. I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky. It was moving irregularly. Suddenly, there was intense light all around. And when I came to, I was home.

A Psychological Inquiry - The difference between submission and selflessness
You're missing my point. Many Americans balk at the fact that in many European countries, tax is included in the list price because they think they're somehow paying more than if tax was just added on at the end. It's the same way with tipping.

A Psychological Inquiry - The difference between submission and selflessness

I've always heard that waiters in the US expect to be tipped no matter what. I've even heard stories of people being chased out of places by waiters because they only tipped x amount, or not at all, because the service was bad or something.
It's not that waiters expect to be tipped, it's that business owners expect that their workers will be tipped. It allows them to pay less than minimum wage and thus evade taxes. Really, "tip" should just be factored into the price, but Americans hate paying more - even if they only think they're paying more.
Rise of an Author
Well, there are plenty of better arguments (such as the lack of script support), but attempting to raise any other legitimate point against their use will aggravate the fanboys.
Regardless of who gives a shit, it's still deceptive to say that they're freeware. Some people would prefer not to pirate the tools they use to create things.

Religion in games
I think one of the best portrayals of religion in a game was in Dragon Age. They realistically portrayed the multi-faceted nature of an established religion. It seems popular in RPGs to have churches always turn out to be evil, conspiring organizations. In Dragon Age, however, we see that although the Chantry has its militant and intolerant side, it also helps people and that the majority of the people involved with it are genuinely good people who want to make a difference.
Story vs. Features
The debate between gameplay and story is really silly. One isn't objectively better than the other. The bottom line is what matters in the end is the player's experience. If you can conjure a memorable experience in players by prioritizing story and characterization over gameplay, then do it. If you're not a great writer, but you can cause the player to have hours of fun exploring your world and conquering your challenges, then do it.
There's no magic formula to creating a rich, memorable experience. It's different for every developer and it's important to play to your strengths.
