Whatever you do, don't make a fan game that goes in a different direction than everything from the canon series, as this ensures exactly zero people will be interested. I should know; I have hands-on experience.

What about parodies of games with the characters from the canon series? Do those have a better chance? Not exactly what I'm making but just curious...

Both pictures look great, but I'm really digging that mansion!

Thanks! I can't parallax so I have to make do the tilesets I have, and it took me hours to design the mansion even though it looks so simple. I just noticed some mistakes on it too so I fixed them as well.

Hello again.

My ice cave is missing something but I can't pinpoint it. Does it need less crystals? Should I change the walls or ceiling? Do I add more torches? Should there be effects? (e.g. tint)
This sort of stuff.

A peace loving girl that kills bandits, that's great.

"You're disturbing my peace *whack*, so I'm going to take you out *whack*." Yep, I can see that.

lol. Most of it was just last minute thinking to fill up the remaining letters so I haven't even read over it.

The game I'm making has a pretty big fanbase but it gets a lot of hate from time to time. There's also some pretty well known RPG Maker games for it too.
One thing that I can't get over is that I've never seen a decent map in any of the fangames, ever.
Hmmm

Naruto
One Piece
Bleach
Attack on Titan

I cannot think of anymore atm

Opinion on Fangames

It's not like that in any way is a guarantee for quality, though. Often, I found, it's quite the opposite.
Fangames aren't inherently bad, if you actually put time and effort in.

People that didn't play or like the original probably won't be playing the fangame, which is also something to consider. On the other hand, you might get some players that searched for "Naruto" or whatever fangame you're making...

It's my turn...? I think?

A mansion for a noble.

Not sure if I overdid it.

And a pub without the effects.

Decided to practice some Parallax mapping while I'm waiting for my partner to finish his part of our game. (Image has been resized to fit on this webpage.)

@kory_toombs

It looks like there isn't going to be much in the map, so does it need to be that big? If so, you could put more trees around the outer part of the map. Try adding some plants or tuffs of grass here and there. Since you're using parallax mapping you could use clumping as well.
The shape of the house is really weird too.

If that's an overlay I see, I like it. If not, idk.

I think I'm in love with the art and tileset. <3 Looks like a promising game.

The map seems really bare. I think you could add some trees, (it looks a bit like a wasteland, so maybe some dead trees? You could even put some fallen leaves beside them) plants, grass or maybe some rocks. Depending on the use of the map, empty space is usually not a good thing. You can use this technique for other maps as well.
My opinion, but hope it helps!
