Turn based cinematography
In some ways the new XCOM and Battletech games try to be cool with cinematography in their combats but the fact is that so often I'm more annoyed by it than not and try to minimize the cinematography in the options. Usually because you are fighting so much that information efficiency feels more important than cool camera angles.
The one game where I really liked the cinema camera though was in Frozen Cortex (I'm gonna link it because it's a game more people need to play) and that's because of the simultaneous turn based system it used. So a turn is planned out and you press "execute" and both teams move at the same time which is the perfect time to also make it look cool. Because regular turn based cool camera doesn't look all that cool because everyone else is just standing still doing nothing. (See XCOM where your guy does a dash and jumps over an obstacle and through a window and it's badass but... nothing happens around him while he does that)

Best City Map?
One city I remember even though it might not be visually too interesting it had a feel that I've never really felt in other rpg cities. And that was Tarant in Arcanum. It's the biggest city in the game and is sort of a hub world for a bit.
But the thing I remember about it is that it's a city that is just put in a grid with nearly identical buildings. But I seem to recall (it's been a while) that each street has a name and thus you could navigate it by actual addresses. But also because the buildings were so samey it was actually possible for me to get lost in that city. I ran around back and forth in those streets and even after hours of gameplay I felt like I stumbled upon a location or character I hadn't seen before.
In my head (again it's been a long time so some of this might not actually exist in game) it also had areas that felt more slummy than others. There was a harbor and as you closed in on that there seemed to be more beggars lining the streets and despite the fact that I think just about every building used the same tileset it still managed to feel more run down in certain parts of the city than others.
To me this was just a marvel, especially considering how... visually uninteresting it technically was.

Video Game Critic Wager 2022
A massive mistake I did though was that I didn't know Tactics Ogre: Reborn was just a remaster when I looked at what to pick for my last slots. I thought it was a regular remake. And I can't drop it and replace it either so that's a 0-pointer for me.

Resurrect the dying? But what if my gamedev ambitions are already dead?
What seems to be the problem with my game submission?
That is in fact very strange, especially when I press edit and notice that it all seems to be formatted properly.
maybe it's this?
[: let's see, nope not that unless if you do more of them italic
There does [; seem to be a lot of these kinds of [: smileys though. Since they also open code brackets maybe one of them does in fact break the formatting?
nope, what if I just repaste it all:
repasting it all did in fact break it... I have a feeling it's the use of "non-code" brackets that breaks it
that faulty youtube link bracket thing is what breaks it. The youtube embed code is ancient and does not quite work properly all the time. It only works with non-shortened links and no additional text. (in this case the link is both shortened AND there's the word "videolink" before it
Though once that is fixed you might also want to change thebecause I believe it will just disappear if you use square brackets

I dropped Marvel's Midnight Sun when it got delayed and then it got undelayed and I picked it right back up :D
But I still need a new gaming franchise. I was looking at Skull&Bones as a contender but that game has had some real bad press and Ubisoft games are not the safe 80-ish the once were! (I was so certain R6 Extraction would be a safe 80...)

I still love RMN

really should do something about the ""joke"" domain but alas gamingworld.net now directs to something a bot on here would link to.
i do like idea of pivoting to spotlighting on creators and forum/culture preservation though
Wasn't it always gamingw.net though? And that redirects to Salt World
