Naming Conventions - Characters, Spells, and More
i use names that only not many people have, such as "Lucian" for example. not many people have that name.
as for spells.......i stick to the generic Fire 1 except that i replace the number with roman numerals so now it becomes Fire I.

Is it possible to change message speed permanently? [rm2k3]
you really have to do it in every message box. try doing what i do. if the messages are too fast (in a cutscene) try putting the "Wait" command (0.7 secs works well) so that the cutscene dosent go too fast.
Magic and Mana -- To use MP Pot, or not to use MP Pot; which one?
i prefer to use mp potions. i would make them kinda rare since the mp consumed by spells (in my game) is small, and mp potions in my game restore only around 30.
well, it IS a final fantasy, but yeah XD

Where the tent thing really was useful in FF, I think it pulled away from the reality of the world. When you slept in the tent, no monsters would attack you... Something I have tried to stay away from, but I see your very good point on the matter. Thanks! :)

Voice acting in games
i've never played an rpgmaker-made game that has voice acting, so i was wondering, that if someone did put VA'ing in a game, would it make a nice game element?
[rm2k3] how do i remove the "grass effect" from this chipset?
[rm2k3] how do i remove the "grass effect" from this chipset?
kay i recently downloaded this rtp-style snow town chipset from charas (by some dude named Ranma) so i can use it in one part of my game. but when i try to make a house or roads, some grass seems to appear at the sides/edges. i was wondering how i can remove this "effect". anyone?

Need ideas for bizarre and strange furniture.
Narrative theory
i use emotes like *cough* or *hack*. sigh is just..........sigh lol.
i also use grr, argh and pfft in my game.
in my opinion, i think emotes add more feeling to what the character is saying. surely, they cant just say something without them having feeling. i really recommend to all who make games to use those emotes so their characters will have more personality (like someone who says grr alot may make the player think that the character gets mad easily, or something like that).
